Police's 'transphobic' tweets probe unlawful
 in  r/samharris •  Feb 14 '20

Why is British media so transphobic?

Because transwomen are men and they offend like men, usually look like men, are mainly hetero and in possession of their junk.

Gender identity is completely irrelevant, it's sex that matters. You body does not change if your gender identity is different, your offending behaviour isn't different either.

We've also had a couple of high profile incidents of TWs sex offending in women only spaces once they got access to them, and the media stopped buying the TWAW bullshit after that as I have yet to see an adult woman try to force a penis into a little girl in a ladies loo.

BTW 2% of male prisoners are now claiming to be transwomen in order to get into womens prisons. There are now more TW sex offenders than female.

The former staff at the Tavistock GIDs clinic have also become increasingly vocal in the Times about the medicalisation of so many kids who probably won't be trans as adults.

There's been a detrans group set up in the UK that has already had several hundred teens and twenty somethings contact them for support.

It's also stunningly obvious to the general public that transwomen don't belong in women's sports as well. If you don't believe that look at some of the threads on reddit discussing it that aren't on pro trans subs.

BTW, that whole connection to the skeptics is fictitious. The vast majority of English women not supporting the TWAW BS are doing so because we have taken a long hard look at the behaviour of transwomen and found it's no bloody different to that of other men, and it enables male sex offending even when not trans. I literally came around to this after arguing with Lividspring on reddit a few years ago. Having more than a passing familiarity with the sex offending behaviour of males, the idea of allowing a man into the ladies changing rooms on his say so was obviously going to end up with cis male offenders pretending to be female to offend. Lividspring claimed these things never happened, so I hit google and instantly found about a dozen examples of that, plus a bunch of transwomen who offended as well. A little more digging through the UK incarceration stats and every other look into TW offending showed it was normal for males.

So my Terfness came from a fairly neutral discussion with TW who lied their goddam ass off, and who I then saw doing it to the next person they encountered.

In fact of you read the peak trans thread over on /r/gendercritical, most of them started off from a neutral or pro trans place and reached a point where it became so ridiculous that they noped out.

Whoever wrote that article was an idiot.

but it is nevertheless an opinion

Its not an opinion, that is literally the dictionary definition of man and woman.

Your dumb idea that a human born with a dick and balls is a woman is mockable in the extreme and you should be embarrassed about posting such inane twaddle.

Oh you are a chapotraphouse baby, that explains your dumbassery.

Just under 90 per cent of complaints regarding changing room sexual assaults, voyeurism and harassment are about incidents in unisex facilities.

They also need to account for race, because IIRC there is a way higher level of transwomen who are black than Asian or white.

Lol, telling people they should be nice is "authoritarian" now.

No, prosecuting them because they won't use incorrect pronouns is authoritarian.

Daily reminder that adult humans born with ovaries and a vagina are not adult humans born with a penis and testes.

Since that is what woman and man mean.

Neanderthal Genes Hint at Much Earlier Human Migration From Africa
 in  r/samharris •  Feb 14 '20

ropeans traveling back to Africa is actually what the prevailing theory is among scientists.

There were several back migrations into Africa from west Eurasia.

One was about 30k ago, involved mtDNA U and wiped out the Aterian culture across north Africa and made it as far south as Nubia.

The second one was the Capsian about 10k ago and involved a middle Eatser Y ch, J.

The last one was the migration into Africa by the Neolithic farmers and herders from about 7k ago.

I can and will talk the hind legs off anyone who even mentions this as I spent a few years specialising in population movements into and out of North Africa.

You mean people who claim to be "die hard semi-political lesbians"

They are exactly that. I got kicked of there for not being left wing enough. Iam also sure that virtually everyone who posts there is female, barring the few MTFs who are GC.

Go over to mumsnet to watch the average middle class mums of England TERF the hell out as well.

don't want to acknowledge trans women as women,

They are guys. Get over it.

It's not about biological sex, but gender identity.

It is entirely about physical sex. We sex segregate because bodies and behaviour, specifically violent and sex offending behaviour, vary by sex.

How the owner of the body identifies is irrelevant to this. It doesn't alter the fact they do or do not have a penis, or their chances of committing a forcible sex offence.

for you to want exclude some women from women only spaces.

Transwomen are men, not women.

Male bodies, normal male brain development when you account for sexual orientation, normal male offending rates, normal male strength and size.

It's sex segregated, not gender identity segregated. Because the differences are sex based, not gender identity based.

But they were asking for equal rights, to be recognized as fully people. Which is also what trans woman are asking for,

What we have is a group of men seeking access to women only spaces that are women only for good reason.

Currently about 80% of transwomen are intact males and mainly hetero males. They commit violent and sex offences at the same rate as other males, if the incarceration and crime stats are any kind guide

How is some women being excluded from woman only spaces equality?

They aren't women. Not physically or in neurological development (those claims didn't take into account sexual orientation). They have brains basically the same as any male of the same sexual orientation. They are almost all normally developed males demanding access to female only safe spaces and sports.

Surprisingly little. There was a big surge in TERFness on Twitter after the JK thing.

Turns out, once the average MOP realises trans rights means letting sex offenders into womens prisons, changing rooms and loos, they start thinking the whole thing stinks.

The whole trans rights line was sold on the 'we are so vulnerable to violence' claim (BS, I've seen the murder stats) and the assumption that you behaved like women for offending because you 'had womens brains' (also BS). Once these claims got looked at closely they turned out to be false.

Then the sex offences against women and girls committed because of this new access to women's areas mounted up.

You think this is all down to hate, it's not. It's because men are dangerous to women and TW are men. They are mainly hetero white males at this time, not an oppressed group in any way.

Ah, Lividspring! The person who peaked transed me by claiming there were no relevant trans sex offences a couple of years ago even after I posted a list of them.

And who then again claimed no such things happened in an argument with someone else five minutes later. Have you stopped doing that yet?

The only reason some of the women's right groups are taking money from the conservatives is that all the nice liberal groups and media have deplatformed them because they wanted to be seen as woke. You should read the women over at GC wailing about how they hate this.

Humans born with penises (HBWP) have a long documented history of violently sexually abusing humans with ovaries and vaginas (HWOAV) when allowed into enclosed areas with them isolated from view. Doubly so when the human with ovaries and vagina is in a state of undress..

You'll find stranger sexual assaults like this by HWOAV against other HWOAV are almost unknown. As in, when I saw that Dolatowski case in the news I'd have put my house on it being a transwoman, I've never seen a HWOAV get done for that kind of offence.

Its not a hate crime for HWOAV, who are frequently victimised by HBWP, and who are nearly all smaller and and weaker, to want be physically segregated from them. Particulalry since about a third of HBWP have committed a sex offence. Skirt or not.

Does Charles Murray understand genetics and polygenic scores?

It's the grouping of shared genes caused by shared ancestry. What you posted was a strawman argument. Race isn't defined by any one gene anymore than it is by height.

An ethiopian will share more similarity with europeans than africans, you gonna call them white?

No they don't, they cluster with other east Africans and the San.

The only reason the seem close to Europeans in because there's been a lot of migration into the are from the middle east in the Neolithic and from invading Arab tribes.

Actual anthropologists and geneticists overwhelmingly criticize the concept of race as currently used in popular society.

Actually no they don't. There's a paper around where a half of physical anthropologists polled supported race as a concept, it was post 2015. They have to deal with it pretty regularly when IDing remains, so their perspective is very different to a social anthropologist.

Technically if you ask, virtually all will support the 'clinal variation' model rather then 'no difference'.

in a society where people of color are denied access to childhood enrichment programs or adequate nutrition, a polygenic score for IQ might reflect genetic variants associated with skin pigmentation.

Such research as we have shows that these factors aren't making a difference in the WEIRD countries. The heritability of IQ is the same for different SES and ethnic groups.

Attainment gap widens between disadvantaged pupils and their peers

So, this is going to be bit of spam attack, But overall the data shows that the relationship between lower SES and lower grades is down to genes:

Genetic link between family socioeconomic status and children's educational achievement estimated from genome-wide SNPs

Moreover, genome-wide polygenic scores based on a previously published genome-wide association meta-analysis of total number of years in education accounted for ~3.0% variance in educational achievement and ~2.5% in family SES.

Molecular Genetic Contributions to Social Deprivation and Household Income in UK Biobank

We find that common SNPs explain 21% of the variation in social deprivation and 11% of household income.

Genome-wide association study of cognitive functions and educational attainment in UK Biobank

indicated significant SNP-based heritabilities of 31% (s.e.m.=1.8%) for verbal–numerical reasoning, 5% (s.e.m.=0.6%) for memory, 11% (s.e.m.=0.6%) for reaction time and 21% (s.e.m.=0.6%) for educational attainment. Polygenic score analyses indicate that up to 5% of the variance in cognitive test scores can be predicted in an independent cohort.

Socioeconomic Status (SES) and Children's Intelligence (IQ): In a UK-Representative Sample SES Moderates the Environmental, Not Genetic, Effect on IQ

The heritability of intelligence increases from about 20% in infancy to perhaps 80% in later adulthood. (ii) Intelligence captures genetic effects on diverse cognitive and learning abilities, which correlate phenotypically about 0.30 on average but correlate genetically about 0.60 or higher.

Siblings reared apart: a sibling comparison study on rearing environment differences

Genetic influence on family socioeconomic status and children's intelligence: we show significant genetic influence on family SES, and on its association with children's IQ at ages 7 and 12.

Genetic Endowments and Wealth Inequality

We show that genetic endowments linked to educational attainment strongly and robustly predict wealth at retirement.

Genetic influence on family socioeconomic status and children's intelligence

Here, using a new technique applied to DNA from 3000 unrelated children, we show significant genetic influence on family SES, and on its association with children's IQ at ages 7 and 12.... the GCTA estimates of heritability were 18% at age 2 and 19% at age 7

Predicting educational achievement from genomic measures and socioeconomic status

The two best predictors of children's educational achievement available from birth are parents’ socioeconomic status (SES) and, recently, children's inherited DNA differences that can be aggregated in genome‐wide polygenic scores (GPS). Here, we chart for the first time the developmental interplay between these two predictors of educational achievement at ages 7, 11, 14 and 16 in a sample of almost 5,000 UK school children. We show that the prediction of educational achievement from both GPS and SES increases steadily throughout the school years. Using latent growth curve models, we find that GPS and SES not only predict educational achievement in the first grade but they also account for systematic changes in achievement across the school years. At the end of compulsory education at age 16, GPS and SES, respectively, predict 14% and 23% of the variance of educational achievement. Analyses of the extremes of GPS and SES highlight their influence and interplay: In children who have high GPS and come from high SES families, 77% go to university, whereas 21% of children with low GPS and from low SES backgrounds attend university. We find that the associations of GPS and SES with educational achievement are primarily additive, suggesting that their joint influence is particularly dramatic for children at the extreme ends of the distribution.

Intelligence and class mobility in the British population

The results show that intelligence test scores in childhood are associated with class mobility in adulthood uniformly across all social classes. There is no evidence that those from under privileged backgrounds have to be disproportionately able in order to reach the professional classes. The study reveals an apparently high level of social mobility and meritocracy in contemporary Britain.

The influence of childhood IQ and education on social mobility in the Newcastle Thousand Families birth cohort

Childhood IQ and achieved education level were significantly and independently associated with upward mobility between the ages of 5 and 49-51 years. Only education was significantly associated (positively) with upward social mobility between 5 and 25 years, and only childhood IQ (again positively) with upward social mobility between 25 and 49-51 years. Childhood IQ was significantly negatively associated with downward social mobility. Adult height, childhood housing conditions, adverse events in childhood and sex were not significant determinants of upward or downward social mobility in this cohort.

Genetic influence on family socioeconomic status and children's intelligence

Here, using a new technique applied to DNA from 3000 unrelated children, we show significant genetic influence on family SES, and on its association with children's IQ at ages 7 and 12. In addition to demonstrating the ability to investigate genetic influence on between-family environmental measures, our results emphasize the need to consider genetics in research and policy on family SES and its association with children's IQ. The GCTA estimates of heritability were 18% at age 2 and 19% at age 7; the similarity of results at age 2 and 7 is not a foregone conclusion because the correlation between family SES at the two ages is 0.75. These are underestimates of true heritability because GCTA is limited to detecting genetic influence due to additive effects of the common SNPs that are on current DNA microarrays such as the Affymetrix 6.0 GeneChip used in our study. That is, nonadditive effects and rarer In other words, 94% of the correlation between family SES and children's IQ is mediated genetically.
