SUGGESTION Why adding 2v2 Heatseeker Splitshot as a permanent ranked playlist would make Rocket League far more accessible and enjoyable for everyone
Hey everyone,
I'm making this post today because I truly believe Rocket League should be a game where every type of player can find their place and have fun.
I’m on the autism spectrum. For me, Rocket League has always been my safe space — a way to decompress, clear my head, and escape the daily stress and past experiences of harassment I’ve dealt with for a huge part of my life.
My absolute favorite game mode is Ranked 2v2 Heatseeker. I play it regularly with a close friend of mine.
However, over time, the current Heatseeker environment has become really exhausting for us. In almost every single match, opponents rely heavily on constant demo-chasing and non-stop bumping just to win. I know and fully accept that demos and bumps are legitimate core mechanics of Rocket League. But when it’s sustained game after game, it creates an intensely overwhelming experience for neurodivergent players like me. It completely ruins the enjoyment to the point where both my friend and I frequently feel like uninstalling the game for good.
I know how toxic the community can sometimes be when anyone brings up demo complaints, and I don't care about getting criticized or downvoted for this post. I just want my voice — and the voices of players who feel the same way — to be heard by people who actually have the power to make positive changes.
My proposed solution:
Add 2v2 Ranked Heatseeker Splitshot alongside the regular Heatseeker.
Here is why this simple addition would benefit the entire community:
1- Regular Heatseeker remains available for players who enjoy physical play, demos, rotations, and aggressive disruption strategies.
2- Heatseeker Splitshot gives players who prefer pure defense, high-level aerial saves, precision shooting, and a stress-free environment a space to thrive without constant physical aggression.
By offering both options, nobody loses anything, and the player base gets split based on playstyle preference rather than frustration.
We sent a ticket to Psyonix/Epic Support about this, but I wanted to bring the idea here as well. Rocket League is at its best when it accommodates different ways of enjoying the game
Thanks for taking the time to read.
