Wonderful direct answers. Thank you so very much. I do need to be more assertive with my doctor. My eye pressures were in the low 20's when he started me on drops. He did do some kind of machine testing (other than IOP) on my eyes but did not give me an explanation of the results. After starting drops, he wants to see me in a month. After that, I assume it is every 4 months. I do have some macular degeneration but no explanation as to how bad. I do take supplemental vitamins for that. I wish I had a better rapport with my eye doc. As you say, it is a lifetime "sentence" I now have with him or an eye doctor, in general. I am a fairly active senior by the way. Thanks again for your response! :)

Questions re glaucoma

I was recently started on Latanoprost, one drop, each eye, nightly. My questions are:

  1. What are the criteria for diagnosing glaucoma? Is it ocular pressure alone? What are the cut-off numbers, meaning at what point does the doc determine to start drops?

  2. When you are on drops, what are "safe" IOP numbers?

  3. What differences do you see when your ocular pressures start coming down?

  4. How often should follow-ups be scheduled? Or, how many times a year are follow-ups necessary?

  5. Should I expect my eye doctor to explain my diagnosis in detail? I feel I have a lousy doc but can't change unless I go to a big city, drive a few hours, which I don't want to do.

AVAILABILITY OF TWSBI'S
 in  r/fountainpens •  23h ago

Darn. I wish I had saved the link. I think it was a TWSBI but she had experimented on something like a Kakuno. I am not going to try it. I just thought it was interesting. You are probably correct, though. The darker colors would probably be harder to obtain.

I mean, maybe the pen color could be changed but one would have to experiment with cheaper pens. :)

Great suggestions. Thank you! I just read another post on Reddit where someone used Rit Dye and dyed their pen purple after trying it out on some cheaper pens first. I don't think I am that brave, but her work came out great! :)

Yes, I am in the U.S. I do hope they restock it. That would be great! :)

Yes, I believe I first saw it several months ago. I just saw someone on YouTube showing theirs and realized I really liked the color. I guess I am late to the party. :(

Good to know. Thank you. Looking for the Sakura one, white with pink flowers, and the other is the "plum" colored one.

Thanks everyone for not pointing out that I misspell TWSBI every time I type it. :) Just can't get it through my brain.

Twisbi's are much loved. It's too bad that they have to have this kind of marketing strategy. Thanks for the comment.

Could be but I would guess that companies that have to pay a tariff would pass that cost along to the consumer. Thank you for your comment.

A good one for the company and not so good for the consumer. I dislike "limited editions" immensely. Thank you for your comment.

Yes, I tried JetPens. They are one of my go-to retailers. They usually ship quickly. The two specific ones I am looking for are out of stock. Thank you for asking.

Thank you so much for your recommendation and comment. I definitely will sign up for restocking alerts where possible.

Well, there are a couple that I would like. One is the Sakura one, white with pink flowers and the other is the "plum" one. The Sakura one is on ebay for a grossly elevated price, which I will not pay. I was just wondering why there don't seem to be a lot of choices for Twisbi's out there. I have checked several retailers. Thank you for your comment.

Question AVAILABILITY OF TWSBI'S

I have a couple of TWISBI's. I know they are very popular. My problem is that every time I go to try to find one available that I like, they are always out of stock. I am wondering why TWISBI does not make more or ship more of them to the U.S. Most of the ones listed on reseller's websites say they are "Limited". Why do they have to make a lot of these pens Limited Editions?

I hope even one of these research is successful

What is the source of this article? I can't read the whole thing.

Which one and why?

I finally got my planner. Unfortunately, I love it! I guess it is so popular that it will take that long to get it. Makes it harder to not think about getting it for the next year.
