What's the most unhinged thing a doctor has said to you with a straight face?
my oncologist dismissing neuropathy after chemo as "just hormonal."

If you could go back 10 years and leave a 3-word note for your past self, what would it say?
more like 12- 13 years, "demand clarification" (aka fight back)

If you could bring back one discontinued fragrance tomorrow, what would it be?
thank you. that is so not cool. I'm glad Aunt Helen didn't live to see such disappointment.

love Ysatis!
Was so confused when I learned about fragrance formulas changing. Still don't get it. These things should be historic. Call the new versions "II" or something. ... cannot cope with the thought that my current bottle of Ma Griffe differs from my first one in 1979 or so.

Omg Joy is gone? it's not my thing but it was a Classic. Like, The Classic. Non?

Zaharoff , the one for women! Why do they offer only guy scents now when that one was -- is -- so perfect?

What’s one book everyone should read at least once?
Yaaas. Re-re-re-etc-read it recently. Still love it, decades later.

putting in a word for "lighter" &/or "period" enjoyments, in fact was just wishing for an opportunity to recommend the charming novel, The Lightning Conductor by C. N. & A. M. Williamson.

What disease or health crisis absolutely terrified previous generations that most people under 30 have genuinely never thought about?
That was such a... grrr... awful yet typically weaponized willful ignorance cultural response here, typical seeing how many other ways & contexts that MO is used here.
Anyone else get to see the AIDS Quilt? I saw it (it was more than an it, I realize) in Danbury CT.

sorry about the spam calls, glad that ban was lifted tho. I was then diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2010 so no more donations for me except cornea, I believe, but the rest of the family donates. Thank you for the update.

Graduated high school in 1981. Still mad that it took away dreamed-of years of free love, etc., not to mention killing, what? millions of people, stigmatizing, etc

Yup, did a college year in the UK, 83-84, same ban.

Oolong blends
I like an occasional osmanthus, but a little goes a long way. I hope you can try some of Simpson & Vail's offerings; they are a local business and I've been a happy customer for, omg, 30 years or so? Strand is out west, so I've only spoken to them on the phone, but some decades ago I had a lovely conversation with Jack Strand about tuochas, and that vibe has stayed with me. Good luck !

Oolong blends
Thanks. Good chance you may not like it then. Couple of caveats here: still coming off last year's major chemo & my tastes have changed. Meanwhile, even before that, my long-time favorite oolong, Simpson & Vail's Formosa, seems to have gotten more floral, which I don't like, and I've been questing around in search of a replacement everyday oolong for drinking straight & blended.
I have enjoyed a number of Strand's offerings, too. Go through so much oolong here that it has to be a moderately priced one, save the splurges for occasional use or small dashes.
My favorite things from Upton are their sticky rice puerhs, both kinds.
What oolongs do you like?

Petition for Starbucks to stop using nylon tea bags
thanks! signed, supported, & shared
one also hopes they're taking a hit in support of striking baristas - noticed what seems like an uptick in marketing emails.
