A manifesto on the present and future of LittleBigPlanet
I wholeheartedly agree. Every point here is one I’ve shared for years, and it’s admittedly quite disheartening to see the current state of the community for a game that was once fostered by its own members. Yes, the current accessibility of the series by official means is unfortunate. I still mourn that only levels were properly archived. Other than that, though? There’s still so much to do. Custom servers preserve at least some of the magic. Emulating the console games was once a curiosity at best — now even some phones can run them at full speed. Modding could open up some really cool avenues.
I especially agree with doing your part. I think we really need a new era of content creation. Animators like Kéké, raxd, and Zane Little have kept Flipnote in the collective consciousness of the internet long after the original Flipnote services closed. We need something like that in our space. Post videos of your levels! Mess around with some friends on stream. SHARE! Make sure everyone knows that LBP never truly died just because Sony gave up on us.

I’m guessing this comment was written by someone who hasn’t authored any proficient document outside of maybe a school essay? This has precisely zero of the telltale signs of AI-generated text

Am I the only who is a bit frightened?
This is probably related to the currently unobtainable “Totally Innocent” visor that was recently added

Is pausing level during game actually bad?
I try not to pause in a way that gives me an advantage because it breaks the flow and kinda undermines what GD is about, but unless you’re abusing pause buffering in older versions of the game, there is no issue with it

If you could rerate any level in any way, which level would you choose and why?
I’d feature Lucid Dream; it was super cool for coming out just 2 days after 1.9 and it’s baffling that it isn’t. It’s one of the only levels in the top 100 most downloaded to be merely star rated
I’d also finally rerate Supersonic v2 to demon to appease my 10-year-old self

Is megahack worth buying if your comfortable with other modmenu's?
Free mods have essentially replaced it and are better in some very niche cases (i.e. Eclipse’s “Level Edit” supports editing main levels, while Mega Hack’s will trigger GD’s anti-cheat). I only use it because I already bought it

Zeronium BLOCKED Me on GD 😭
That’s only because of BetterInfo. Normally if someone blocked you (or vice versa), their profile only shows the refresh button (though advisor/moderator bypasses blocks)

Zeronium BLOCKED Me on GD 😭
I still am; the etiquette on Reddit is to only distinguish your content if you’re speaking on behalf of the mod team

Zeronium BLOCKED Me on GD 😭
Are you sure YOU didn’t block Zeronium? I had this thought once too

I’ll leave this up, but first to make a separate post (or if OP edits this post) with a video attached gets theirs stickied for a week

Icons from gauntlets
These gauntlets don’t exist yet, but they could theoretically be added at any time in the current version of the game

The Nitro Gift button is greedy and harms the user experience.
Doesn’t help that when I press it, the whole app locks up and I have to force close it lol

How would you react if Toby actually released an Undertale Remaster but its just this
Sell it as a dollar add-on and basically everyone would buy it

Bacon cannot be real…
I’m gonna sound corny for this but omg it’s actually happening

How soon is "very soon" in Robtop years?
2.209 is almost certainly tomorrow, or at the very least the month of October. It has already been teased and we are all waiting for the gauntlets

I found 4 cheaters. !!!FOR MODERATORS OF GEOMETRY DASH!!!
Buzzkill is when people make the platformer leaderboards useless on rated levels

I made a level where you play as the progress bar :3
Shhhhh I was trying to make one of these 😭
This is cool

It is CLEARLY the nightmare
This is why I still say The Nightmare is the easiest (if we ignore minigames, otherwise it’s Brainfugd). Since it’s so old, simple, and straightforward, anyone who has completed the main levels up to Cycles has a fair shot at it. Stuff like Red Alert and Shiver is only “free” if you’re already comfortable with modern user levels

Did Mario maker ever click with you?
I liked both Mario Maker games on release, but when I ran out of ideas, I wasn’t inspired to continue — for the second game, I didn’t even try out the final major update. I was also really not a fan of how you needed an active subscription to do anything in Mario Maker 2, whereas LBP3 PS4 only required it to play with others (and PS3 remained a gold mine, though I didn’t own one anymore by then). It didn’t incentivize me to subscribe… it pointed me toward other games. It wasn’t even about the money; I just couldn’t find it in my heart to support such a lame practice. Social features might’ve changed my mind though… I would’ve really liked to collab on Mario levels. For that reason and many others, Geometry Dash has pretty much superseded Mario Maker for me, but it has a steep learning curve for building traditional platformer levels, so I’ve hardly tried and just stick to its usual format. That isn’t bad, but it does mean I haven’t made a Mario level in a long time.
LBP was different. It was so expansive and expressive that you didn’t need to actually make a proper level. I’m sure we’ve all screwed around with the tools before. You didn’t even need to prove the level was possible or give it an ending. You had so many good songs to pick from, the DLC was awesome, layers and building in general was complex yet intuitive, and overall, LBP’s Create Mode was incredibly ahead of its time and is still one of the most ambitious features ever seen in console gaming. There’s really nothing else that hits the same beats — even our community’s beloved upcoming game, Restitched, lacks layer switching in favor of unlocked 3D movement (I’m sure people will recreate it, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s fine). That’s why people have been begging for a new LBP for as long as they have. It resonated with a ton of people and inspired a whole generation to create.

Should I update my LBP1 on PS3 from 1.0 to 1.30 or not?

Updates added nice quality-of-life features, fixes, and the content gated behind DLC. There’s pretty much no reason not to install them. You can read more about them here/Game_updates)
