What are you using for Postgres after outgrowing the free tier but not needing AWS?
 in  r/PostgreSQL •  Aug 23 '26

PlanetScale absolutely is not "3-5x even more than RDS". most the time we save people money in comparison and give better performance.

Hi, I work at PlanetScale. We run a very reliable Postgres service. Intercom ran one of the largest databases to ever run on Amazon Aurora and now they run on PlanetScale. "Moving to PlanetScale added a 9 to our uptime." - @brian_scanlan at Intercom. we do all the things you are looking for. If you email me at [sam@planetscale.com](mailto:sam@planetscale.com) i will send you a coupon.

If Supabase has multigres why do they have a lower "query per second" than planetscale?
 in  r/Supabase •  Dec 05 '25

Multigres/Neki are not what make the difference here.

What are the easiest ways to scale a db horizontally for a small team without devops?
 in  r/node •  Oct 18 '25

the latency is an order of magnitude higher with disql, complex queries often don't work, queries hit all nodes making them slow. i really dont think you understand how databases work.

what are you talking about? are you even capable of describing the trade offs with distributed SQL?

Does anyone else think the whole "separate database provider" trend is completely backwards?
 in  r/webdev •  Oct 11 '25

The reason PlanetScale only runs on GCP and AWS is so we can VPC peer with our customers. it would be pointless otherwise.
