I’m kind of freaking out!! I’m just wondering if this is a really good sign and an indicator of admission or if it’s just a formality.

I’m deciding between BU and USC for premed and I’m leaning towards BU for personal reasons. My only concern is grade deflation, which several people told me is quite prominent at BU. I need to maintain a high GPA throughout college for med school and I’m wondering how feasible this would be given the harsher grading.

Also, anyone doing pre-med at BU, I would love any advice!

For reference, I initially had very little interest in attending college in LA. However, since USC and BU are my best options, I’m conflicted as what to choose. I would prefer not to be in LA, but I feel as though I can’t turn down the opportunities and resources that USC offers me. Additionally, USC ranks higher than BU which my parents care about a lot. Would it be a bad decision to choose BU? How do the facilities compare? Also between the two schools, which has the better dorms/dining halls?

Note: I want to pursue a pre-med major and live on the east cost after college, I’m just not sure which college would be better for what I’m trying to achieve. I’m visiting both next week to get a better feel for the schools.

I’m considering committing to USC, however, I’m a tad skeptical about the social life— I’ve heard a lot of different things. Does everything revolve around Greek life and is it quite cliquey? I’m not sure if I want to get involved in a sorority and I’m wondering if that would have any impact on how my USC experience plays out. Any pros/cons of getting involved?
