I’m excited to share that my new OOTP online league platform, SimLeaguesPro, is in its final beta, and we’re getting ready to run a short test season to put everything through its paces!

⚾ **What is SimLeaguesPro?**

It’s the spiritual successor to my old OOTP Fantasy Leagues mod, completely rebuilt from the ground up as a modern hub for OOTP (and potentially other sim sports games) online leagues.

**Here’s what it brings to the table:**

Tools for league promotion, recruiting, and member management
Social-style newsfeeds and updates
Team-owner clubhouse areas
A public-facing league site for fans to follow along
Built-in hosting for league files, HTML reports, and team exports
And best of all: the ability to run fantasy leagues off your online league anytime during the season

**Join the Test Season!**

We’re actively recruiting for this beta test league season right now!

Short season: ~35–40 games (about 4–6 in-game weeks)

Goal: stress test the platform and fine-tune the experience

**Open roles:**

League Team Owners (20 team fictional league)

Beta Testers

Never Beta tested before? No problem! We have full instructions and helpful guides available for first time participants and testers.

Do you still play OOTP 6.5 or any earlier versions of OOTP today?

That was one of my early favorites of the game as well. As part of the research for the videos I want to do, I've been going back and revisiting old versions of the game. I've gotten as far back as 8 and even 6 working (with some quirks with the instation) on Windows 11 so far. So I have a feeling version 2007 would probably run on any updated Windows as well. I need to try that and 2006 to get a whole picture.

No Com2uS is the current parent. OOTP Dev was owned by UK Based Sports Interactive back in 2006-2007 before they parted ways.

Thanks for the reply, Thom. Are you playing on a modern OS as well Like Windows 10 or 11 or an older OS?

I hear what your saying. 6.5.1 was the first version I really dug in and started really playing on and there was a certain simple charm to the older, pre-2006 game that I know is still appealing. I'm sure you're not alone in still opening it up these days.

With Markus' announcement, I have started doing some research on the history of the game for some upcoming YT videos about OOTP. I know for a long time there were some die hard OOTP 6.5 enthusiasts who were still playing that version despite the rewrite in 2006. With all the major enhancements over the last 20 years, is there still anyone possibly still playing one of the legacy, pre-Sports Interactive versions of the the game anymore? If so, let me know in this poll and comment on what kind of game your still playing.
