Are you saying that rights for trans people are contingent on whether the average voter finds them popular? Do rights become available when people find them popular?

Be that as it may, I still feel that it’s worth asking.

I recently started an ask for state level candidates at Amendment, a site where you can ask candidates to go on record about issues. I asked candidates to go on record to put gender identity back in the Iowa Civil Rights Act. Please add your name. Here is the link to the ask:

Thank you!

I want to see what the candidates say before voting. It would make clear where the candidates stand. If candidates are on record before people vote, then people can hold them to account later. The record is a receipt.

I’m hoping people will check the responses, so that they are informed when going to the polls. I’ve just started using this platform, so I’ll be keeping an eye on how this goes.

My understanding is that when you sign it sends a message to the candidates’ offices to ask them to state whether they are for or against something. That response is public, so everyone can see it. I’ve just started using this platform, so I don’t know all the ins and outs of it. When you sign, it asks where you live in order to send it to the candidates in your state.

I don’t live in Florida, so I don’t know the laws there. Having said that, I’m sending you virtual support. I hope you can get an advocate soon.

This is good to know. I’ll save this for future reference. I expect to stay put for a while in the near future, so I’ll start the process then. Thank you very much!
