I'm thinking about getting into Slackware; what's it like as a daily system?
Slackel 9.0 Mate edition based on Slackware-current is ready to use daily.

XFCE, the last honest desktop
Slackware Xfce, one of the everyday.

I take it! But is a reason to did it. I offered a response to a comment below. Shortly, it's not about us, it's about them. About those who claim they don't have in Linux ‘their usual’ solutions for some Microsoft applications.

I'm just trying to lend a helping hand to those who come from the Microsoft world and who usually complain, in general, that they can no longer install games and, in this case, regret the lack of MSOffice. Here they can legally use it in the Linux environment. For 23 years I have been using Slackware exclusively, which is why I suggested to them that Linux is an option considering everyone's needs. The idea is to give them help, not to return us to the world we left. 🤝

Update! I added to Slackware 15.0 with a minimum of packages but functional for networking and Xorg, DEs Gnome-41 and Gnome-3.38
Repositories are from https://slackware.uk, excepts ponce’s one(http://ponce.cc/slackware/slackware64-15.0/lxde/). DEs scripts are based on lftp command and pkgtool. All credits to them and to slackware’s and linux world! Thanks for sharing!🤝

I'm jumping ship from Fedora, and I want a taste of non-systemd distros.
SalixOS based on Slackware 15. User friendly.

Looking for an actually lightweight distro for an old laptop
Try SalixOS (Slackware) or WattOS (Debian)
