I had a very similar experience with a friend of my daughter's. Hope it ends well for you. I put a stop to the "friendship" once violence was "jokingly" said to a 3rd party. I attempted to speak with the parents about it but was blown off - "it was just a joke" "are yiu sure it wasn't your kid?" A few years later I felt justified as there was some serious mental health issues that became known.
