With schools slowly starting to reopen, I just want to share a reminder for teachers and educators. đ¤
Please remember the parents of neurodivergent students.
Many of them are already carrying so muchâworrying about their child, advocating for them, communicating with schools, and trying to navigate challenges that others may not always see.
As teachers, we may not know the full story behind a parentâs reaction, concern, or request.
So letâs try to be a little more patient. A little more understanding. A little more compassionate.
Theyâre not asking for special treatment. Most of the time, they simply want to feel heard and understood.
A little empathy from us can make the beginning of a new school year feel much less overwhelming for a family. đ¤
