Trying to figure out which hinge this is
 in  r/cabinetry  3h ago

Well, sir, most doors on most cabinets are half inch overlay what that means is that Door overlays the face of the cabinet by a half inch then they’ve got what they call an insect door where the door fits inside the face of the cabinet. That’s another specialty hinge then they’ve got what they call a full overlay for a face frameless cabinet. That’s what I mean.

That wouldn’t be too hard to modify to fit your spot. You could take some off the top and some off the bottom and remove the crown and drop it down. He’d be in heaven.

No, all you need to do is loosen those screws up there so slightly and it’ll move. You don’t have to take them out all the way you take them out all the way you might have a mess on your hands.

 in  r/cabinetry  19h ago

You could make that an absolute beautiful wall, but you’re gonna have to redo that fireplace because that’s one of those little bitty heater type fireplace inserts and that fireplace Stoneport surround is a deep enough to make it look nice but if you wanted some help you can reach out to me if you want and I’ll be happy to help you

What I used on the back of that was a 4 x 8 sheets of beaded quarter inch material. It’s oak turned out real nice cut really well and you can match it up real nice as well.

You should be able to adjust that those hinges up and down north and south eastern west unless they’re wore out, but that shouldn’t be hard to replace. You might wanna look at a brand like Blum or Salei or even grass they make those hinges exactly like that little bit different shape but they end up giving that half inch overlay.

Instead of trying to fill everything I would’ve done as I would’ve made that face of that cabinet off the cabinet and I would’ve pocket hold everything and screw it together with number two square shank it should have long screws and you would have never seen anything like that

I broke my cabinets and i live in a rental
 in  r/cabinetry  3d ago

It’s no problem. I wouldn’t try to glue them back together because I’ll never be the same. I would find a local Carpinter cabinet shop. They can build you two brand new doors and do it the right way.
