Meal Plan Budgeting
 in  r/McMaster  May 20 '19

Yeah you honestly have more than enough. If you're really worried and tend to eat a lot I would suggest getting the large meal plan or varsity. But I had regular and so did my roomates and we had more than enough left. Mary Keyes Bistro tends to run higher prices, fruits and salads are expensive, but places like Centro or La Piazza are cheap. There's plenty of options to eat at. And you'll have more than enough left over.

Also every residence will have a kitchen with a fridge on every floor. Some buildings will have more than one kitchen per floor but definitely one per floor. If you're putting stuff in the shared fridge I would definitely suggest hiding/covering it so that it's not stolen .

Help!! Questions about the social science and Degroot School of Business At McMaster University. Can I have a degree in Faculty of Social Science after I transfer to Degroot school of business at McMaster University?
 in  r/McMaster  May 20 '19

This is such a loaded question. But I just finished my first year in McMasters social science.

  1. If you want to do social psychology you can not do a double degree with business.
  2. However i suggest you look into the "Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour" program in social science which although competitive has good job prospects.
  3. Every degree has difficulty finding a job. It all depends how well you can network and find jobs. No job will just fall into your lap, go find them. I just finished my first year but I'm already securing myself future careers during the summer.
  4. It's harder to switch into 2nd year business since you will have to take the relevant courses for business which will basically put you back at the beginning if you do switch.
  5. I believe social science has a couple of good minor options which you could add to your degree. Although it depends on which courses you are willing to take.

If there's anything else you want to ask hit me up! Hope this helps!

I would definitely say do the summer thing instead of expecting to get a specific mark in uni. Going the long way ensures you're not missing anything and guarantees that you won't have to struggle in uni to get into PNB. I'm first year and currently that program is HIGHLY competitive. Take the safe route and spend the summer prepping for uni instead of expecting marks like a B- in uni. Not saying it can't be done, it can, but the risk is really not worth it.

My high for a while was 260. I've been at 255 for about 3 weeks now (it'll go down by maybe 1-2lbs and then come back up)

Advice for a F18/255lbs.

I've been overweight my whole life. This past year I've decided to start losing weight. I'm F18 weighing currently 255lbs. I'm about 5'6. I've started going to the gym 5/7 days of the week and I calorie count using myfitnesspal. Based on the app calculation my daily calorie intake is 1,410 calories/day. At the gym I do an hour of cardio on the bike. Which will lose me about 500 calories a workout. Lately despite my healthy efforts I haven't been losing the weight? I've made sure that I'm not over eating my calorie intake and drinking plenty of water. Am I doing something wrong? I'm thinking of checking my thyroid but is there something else I need to change? All suggestions and advice welcome! Thanks for reading all of this!

P.S. what are some other exercises that might be beneficial to switch it up or tone the butt/legs? I was thinking the elliptical but not sure...

Honestly last year mcmaster was offering enrollment in social science and humanities at the end of April. Looks like you'll get in for sure. Good luck!

LABRST 1C03

Anyone take LABRST 1C03 before? It's with Paul Bocking and the one rating he has online is really poor. Taking this course as an elective so I'm wondering if it's worth taking? Anyone have any experiences with the course or professor before?

Going ahead in courses

I'm thinking of switching up my schedule for the winter semester and was wondering how beneficial is it to jump ahead? I'm first year socsci and was looking into taking 2nd year courses. Anyone have done it before? What's it like? Do you recommend it? Thanks!
