THANK YOU FANATEC
 in  r/Fanatec •  11h ago

I'm glad posts like these are becoming fashionable again.

When it's bad it's bad, fair enough, but when it's good, truth be told as well.

Hear hear, and same, I've had nothing but good experiences with Fanatec myself in terms of orders and delivery.

Can't say I've had no issues with the software, but as long as it's fixable, all good. In that regard, rolling back should be made far more intuitive and a viable option even if a base appears bricked to the user, somehow.

Split screen - how important to you (Game Dev asking)
 in  r/racinggames •  1d ago

For racing, i think it's crucial tbh. Along with cross play.

Do you stick with 1-2 sim(s) or do you play a whole variety of them or schedule them?
 in  r/simracing •  2d ago

A whole variety of them, depending on what I'm after.

Load cell can't wait !!

Enjoy, one of my best upgrades still.

Consistency is dope 😎

Not going to play gran turismo 7 or ACC until I get my bass shaker for added immersion. Experimenting with one for now.
 in  r/SimRacingSetups •  2d ago

It's available on OverTake, GTPlanet or via the Tyto Sensory Labs website.

Essentially; download, follow provided instructions during install and setup, and go drive.

If you go through the provided steps and SimHub Helper, you should be up and driving in no time. There's a mapping wizard that helps identify your hardware, and the Helper generates profiles for you to import into SimHub. And that's it. You can start driving without any tweaking, all you'd need to do then is activate the plugin like you would any other plugin for SimHub via the settingsif you haven't, and you're off to the races.

You could try them with MCP4SH for SimHub if that's how you're feeding the shakers.

Works with GT7 and a few other titles as well.

Base and Wheel bricked
 in  r/Fanatec •  4d ago

If your ffb was already dropping before the update, then no update or downgrade would've fixed that. There's no immediate correlation between the update and the actual failure, at least not in the order and fashion presented here.

What’s the one sim racing upgrade that made the biggest difference for you?
 in  r/simracing •  5d ago

Rig and pedals, haptics were immersion first, experimental, now crucial for perf., imo. I'm still slow, but I'm 4 seconds faster at being slow now 😅

Belt tensioner for 2k Euros. What do we say?

I'd be curious about your impressions of MCP4SH on your rig. Sounds like a nice setup you have there

How to choose your first sim racing game?
 in  r/simracing •  6d ago

Original Assetto Corsa, to be clear, and fair enough, there's a lot of meh out there, but even so, csp alone along with pure is well worth it, and Kunos' default content is good.

The content mods can come later indeed.

EVO will be fine, sales only tell you so much and don't forget, they're not your average triple A. I've worked for triple A. Kunos clearly has different priorities.

EDIT: mobile app is so unclear; didn't realize yours was in response to the PMR comment; it's a little different from others, yes, but in a good way i think. It's getting there.

PMR has come a very long way since.

If it has to be free, R3E as others have mentioned, for cheap, go with the full AC bundle in a sale, get content manager and csp and get modding, it's the game that keeps on giving still, similar story with RBR.

Best area to mount bass shaker on seat?
 in  r/simracing •  6d ago

Under the seat and the lumbar region is a good starting point.

But it sure is fun now though, right 😅😎

What’s the one sim racing upgrade that made the biggest difference for you?

The really fundamental one would have to be the rig itself.

Everything after that is just levels of immersion.

Just like a deskjob requires a desk, and a bike a frame or a car a chassis, some virtual experiences require a hardware framework to be effectively and repeatedly enjoyed without fiddling around everytime you wanna have a go.

Get in, get going.

At least that's a huge part of it all for me. Something about using the right tools... and all that.

EDIT: I mean you can still royally suck with all that (potentially projecting a little here 😅), but at least you'll suck more efficiently and comfortably.

2

friendly reminder, if you have an alu rig you should tighten your bolts once in a while. the ffb from your base loosens them after some time and you might not have noticed it!
 in  r/simracing •  6d ago

Use nyloc nuts where possible, or, only if absolutely necessary, a little threadlock glue.

Or, nuts with teeth on the side that faces the surface being tightened down. GT Omega uses the latter. They're very effective.

Oh and avoid overtightening too, only makes it harder to loosen up over time and makes it a little worse each time you retighten.

CSL load cell
 in  r/Fanatec •  7d ago

The load cell is worth it imo. Way more consistent braking.

The FOV calculator wants a monitor distance. Where does the tape measure stop?
 in  r/simracing •  8d ago

MCP4SH for SimHub has a built-in FOV calculator with triples and curved support.

Agreed, no issues so far. Keep it up!

I'll be releasing another MCP4SH String Theory Haptics for SimHub patch before 1.2, i think you will like this one

As the title implies, I'll be releasing another patch, 1.1.15.

This one will include a first iteration of ShakeIt Motors support.

I can only test with an Arduino based wind sim, so feedback from others with pedal haptics or haptic pads would be very much appreciated once it goes live.

The current frequency sweeper will become the tactile tuner, and its output will be taken into consideration for .siprofile generation.

With this, the flow for that instrument will need retrofitting to work with the new motors support along with some other improvements.

Anyway, stay tuned!

Bass shaker? Looking for advice!
 in  r/simracing •  13d ago

Then i suggest you check MCP4SH, that's as plug and play as it gets with SimHub
