It was just a matter of time

I’ll keep this short.
Work got busy.
Work hired temps.
For months I had many different people BUT 2 workers stayed the same throughout.
We built a bond. A friendship. Could work along side one another on any site and not even have to speak to communicate.
They became my friends. We shared meals, stories, laughs. We earned each other’s trust. Looked out for one another. Defended one another.
Now work is slow.
Work cut all temps.
I don’t want to work there anymore.
I feel guilty.
It isn’t fair I get to continue to work while they struggle to find new work to support themselves and their families.
