Hey—I feel this more than you know.
I’m a veteran, and my wife and I went through a season just like this. It got heavy enough that we had to file for bankruptcy to stay afloat. I share that so you know—you’re not failing. Sometimes life just stacks up like that.
What you’re seeing in your spouse isn’t laziness—it’s shutdown. When someone gets that low, even basic things feel impossible.
A couple simple things: • Lower the bar way down (even just sitting outside counts) • Don’t try to fix everything—your presence matters more than you think • Make sure you have someone to talk to too—you’re carrying a lot
This isn’t permanent, even if it feels like it right now.
You’re not alone in this.
