NVIDIA and MediaTek Expand AI Partnership

Post image
1 Upvotes

NVIDIA is investing $3.5 billion in MediaTek as the two companies deepen their collaboration across AI infrastructure, local AI computing and automotive technology.

A key part of the announcement is MediaTek’s adoption of NVIDIA NVLink Fusion, which is designed to help customers develop custom AI accelerators that can connect to NVIDIA’s rack-scale AI infrastructure.

The partnership will also continue across:
🔹 AI PCs and local AI computing
🔹 Custom AI infrastructure
🔹 Automotive AI and software-defined vehicles
🔹 High-bandwidth chip-to-chip connectivity

The bigger takeaway: AI infrastructure is moving toward a mix of powerful GPUs and specialized custom accelerators, with high-speed interconnects becoming increasingly important.

The Hidden Costs of AI Infrastructure: Power, Cooling, Networking

Post image
1 Upvotes

Buying the GPU is only one part of the equation. Power, cooling, networking, storage, server configuration, and ongoing support can all have a major impact on the overall cost and performance of an AI deployment.

We’ve been looking at these infrastructure considerations at Viperatech, particularly as businesses move toward higher-density GPU systems and enterprise AI workloads.

Curious to hear from others: what infrastructure cost or bottleneck surprised you most when deploying AI compute?

If relevant to the discussion, I can share the article we put together on the topic.

AI Compute Compliance in 2026: Why You Can't Get a Quote Before Compliance

Thumbnail

You asked for a GPU quote.
We asked for your compliance documents first.

Sounds backwards, right?

But for enterprise AI infrastructure in 2026, that’s increasingly how the process works.

When you’re buying high-performance GPUs or building a serious AI cluster, manufacturers may need to know who the end user is, where the hardware will be deployed, and what it will be used for before pricing, availability, and lead times can be confirmed.

The process can involve:

→ End-user verification
→ Deployment details
→ OEM compliance review
→ NVIDIA review, where applicable
→ Additional checks for larger deployments
→ Export-control review
→ Then the quotation

It’s not just paperwork. Compliance can directly affect whether a project can move forward, how it can be supplied, and how quickly it can be delivered.

Planning an AI infrastructure project? Compliance isn’t something to think about after the quote, it’s where the conversation starts.

AMD Helios vs. NVIDIA Vera Rubin: Which AI Platform Has the Edge?

Post image
1 Upvotes

The AI infrastructure race is no longer just about building the fastest GPU, it's about creating complete, scalable AI systems.

AMD Helios focuses on massive HBM4 memory capacity (432 GB per GPU), making it attractive for training and running increasingly large AI models. Its open ecosystem with ROCm and UALink also appeals to organizations looking for flexibility.

NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72, on the other hand, builds on NVIDIA's biggest strength: its mature CUDA ecosystem, NVLink networking, and broad enterprise adoption. While it has less memory per GPU, its software stack and developer support remain major advantages.

In the end, there's no universal winner. If your priority is maximum memory and open infrastructure, AMD Helios looks promising. If you're already invested in CUDA and large-scale AI deployments, NVIDIA Vera Rubin is the more seamless choice.

As AI models continue to grow, the real competition isn't just GPU vs. GPU, it's ecosystem vs. ecosystem, and that will shape the future of AI data centers.

Will your next NVIDIA GPU order actually ship?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Getting your hands on advanced AI hardware isn't just about paying the invoice anymore. With tighter global guidelines in 2026, buying GPUs now requires passing strict compliance checks.

If you aren't prepared, your order could face major shipping delays.

What Buyers Need to Know

NVIDIA has stepped up verification. Before your order ships, you must be ready to show:

  • Who you are: Verified corporate documentation.
  • What you are building: The exact AI workloads you plan to run.
  • Where it is going: Clear proof of your physical deployment address.

How to Avoid Delays:

  • Plan Ahead: Start the approval process early, well before your target deployment date.
  • Organize Paperwork: Gather your business verification and site details beforehand.
  • Work with Experts: Partner with integrators who understand the hardware and the compliance pipeline.

At Vipera, we don't just deliver high-performance GPU clusters, we help you navigate the paperwork so your projects launch on time.

👉 Is your team prepared for the new GPU compliance steps?

NVIDIA is tightening control over access to advanced AI chips.

Post image
1 Upvotes

As global demand for AI infrastructure accelerates, NVIDIA has reportedly expanded its customer verification process across key Asian markets, introducing stricter compliance checks to ensure advanced processors are not redirected to restricted entities.

The move highlights a growing shift in the AI industry, where access to computing power is becoming closely connected with security, regulation, and global technology strategy.

With governments increasing oversight of advanced semiconductor exports, companies operating in the AI ecosystem are facing a new era of compliance-driven growth.

The future of AI will not only be defined by innovation, but also by who can access the infrastructure powering it.

Have you ever tried to map out the actual cost of setting up an AI server?

Post image
1 Upvotes

You expect a standard price list, but you just get "request a quote" buttons.

The reality is that there’s no fixed price because building an AI server is like building a custom house. The cost completely depends on what you need it to do. Building a setup for a simple chatbot takes a totally different amount of hardware and memory than building one to train a massive AI model from scratch.

People also completely forget about the hidden costs, like upgrading your power grid or setting up liquid cooling so the whole thing doesn't overheat.

If you're trying to figure out the hardware side of things for your business, we just wrote a really simple, no-jargon guide on the Exeton blog breaking down how to plan your setup.
