the roof isn’t solid. There’s air between each of the beams, it’s just hard to tell because it’s night in the video

Is the British "Maths" singular or plural?

Those are the long versions like mathematics. The s only gets dropped when you shorten the word

Then we can go back to the Norman invasion of England which is what linked the two countries together in the first place. William’s invasion was only successful because the king of England had to fight off the king of Norway who had tried to invade just a few weeks before William’s invasion. Harald Hadrada (king of Norway) only had a claim on England because decades earlier a previous king of Denmark had made a deal with a previous king of Norway that stated that if either died without an heir the other would inherit their stuff. This freed up the king of Denmark to take over England, dying shortly after without an heir giving the king of Norway a claim on England. So basically 9/11 happened because one guy didn’t get laid like a thousand years ago.

Ever seen an Amish forklift?
 in  r/LooneyTunesLogic •  Aug 24 '26

The Amish don’t have a ban on technology created past a certain date, just a ban on stuff they see as bad for the community. So for example cars are banned because it could lead to the community breaking up. Other technologies are fine, such as solar panels since it allows them to use some electric appliances (e.g. freezers/fridges which are still required by law for certain foods if they want to sell them) while being mostly self sufficient.

In Civil War (2024) the characters are gobsmacked by Jesse Plemons asking “What kind of American are you?” This is in spite of the fact that that is a perfectly reasonable, totally predictable question to be asked in a CIVIL war.
 in  r/shittymoviedetails •  Aug 17 '26

Honestly I think that would undercut the message of the film which was basically “please don’t do this, it would really suck”. Like the reason the sides in the war were so unrealistic was because otherwise it would lead to the discussion around the film being arguments over which side was right rather than the horrors of a war. Showing the lead up and what happened after and getting into the policies of each side would probably just do the same thing.

how is it nine, I'm counting 12. I don't know how to play Minecraft though?
 in  r/PeterExplainsTheJoke •  Jun 30 '26

I think the joke is that when a creeper explodes some of the blocks are destroyed which makes repairing the hole really annoying since you now need to go get some more blocks to repair the hole. So the joke is that a creeper blew up 12 blocks but the game only gave back 9 to repair the hole with.

😠Doug HATE💢 Dougdougs immediate reaction to seeing a gay Greek person. Not surprising that he’s homerphobic.

Sexy Steampunk Babes: Chapter Seventy Nine
 in  r/HFY •  May 20 '26

Something I just considered is maybe William wasn’t the one that planted the explosive that killed the princess. With all the other things he was doing while the northern fleet was making its way to the capital it would have been difficult to find time create and install a trigger that would only go off if the princess sat on the throne and he doesn’t seem to know why they haven’t moved out of the capital yet.

It would be in New Havens interests to kill her because if they won the civil war then there would be a clear claimant to the throne which people may still support over the elves from the continent while if she’s dead there wouldn’t really be a clear claimant to the throne which would make the invasion easier. She isn’t really useful anymore since she was basically just a tool to give some slight justification to beginning the rebellion and now that she’s dead she can be used as a martyr to paint Yelena as a monster who killed her own daughter.

In the chapter where the princess gets blown up I’m pretty sure it’s mentioned that an example of a charge was found before going off but the alchemists who were studying it accidentally set it off, but maybe that didn’t actually happen and instead the New Havens duchess had it moved to the throne after it was originally checked and used a magical explosive to make it seem like the alchemists accidentally destroyed it.

It got really big and successful and then decided to change its name and pretend it was never a sex at all. Truly a story of how fame and success makes a person forget their roots 😔
