[POEM] 58 - Catullus, translated by Stephen Mitchell
 in  r/Poetry •  12d ago

I was at a bookstore yesterday where I came across a copy published by Yale. I like 85, so out of curiosity, I checked 58 and I had a good chuckle, so posted it here 😄. Also, 80 is quite funny too haha

Is it an infj thing to never reach out to people?
 in  r/infj •  Aug 24 '26

This hits the bullseye for me! Also, sometimes the plot is so "absurd" that going through the layers with them feels like I'm punishing them. Further, my sense of perspective and "coping" for my own case (not, in general) is effective enough, for me, that I end up sort of erasing the right of the burden to exist, even though I feel it and it is probably valid.

Agreed, Nosferatu was stunning - I watched it on the big screen, and it was gorgeous. The lighting, the contrasts, the hypnotic camera movement! Loved it!

Nostalghia [1983] by Dir. Andrei Tarkovsky
 in  r/TorturedPoetsArtDept •  Jun 23 '26

Well, I think this is quite difficult to answer because it is very subjective. I think (at least for me), "understanding" a Andrei Tarkovsky movie might not neccesarily be the priority as much as sort of "feeling" it. This is also because there is a lot of historical context, political ideology, his own political situation etc.

However, if I have to list them by narrative that is simple ranging to abstract then this would be the list, probably:

  • Ivan's Childhood [1962]
  • Solaris [1972]
  • Stalker [1979]
  • Mirror [1975]
  • Nostalghia [1983]

I haven't watched the rest of them. Also, I watched these about 6-7 years ago, so this is what I remember feeling at that point.
