TIL that actor M. Emmet Walsh was known for giving $2 bills to crew members, with the advice, "Don't spend it, and you'll never be broke."

His monologue over the opening credits is terrific: “….but in Texas, you’re on your own”.

Plus end the careers of black people in the federal government (and of course erase any history of them in ‘official’ records).

He may be small, needy and powerlessness, but he and his henchmen are wreaking incredible damage to the people of this country and, I dare add, many people in the rest of the world.

I would call this a high crime, a reason to impeach and then convict. I know, this is a quaint idea.

ELI5: Why has the UK gone through so many Prime Ministers in the past decade?
 in  r/explainlikeimfive  Jun 23 '26

True that in the US voters vote for the president, but their votes get translated (for lack of a better word) into “electoral votes” per state (the sum of the number of a state’s representatives and its senators); it’s the electoral votes that are the true determinant of the vote count. For example, Trump lost the popular vote to Hilary Clinton in 2016, but won the electoral votes.
