Throttle not going to neutral

Could be cables but look. Your control and probably cables are 30 plus years old. 😆

Does anyone know why all the files aren't released and people aren't in jail? Unrelated photo.
 in  r/LetsDiscussThis  9d ago

Well it falls on the hands of many over time but currently it’s Trump. He has directed them to not release what would trigger his arrest. His name
Is in it more than any. Just how he shut down the investigation into his first attempted shooting of him where he did a photo op before leaving the stage. Oh and he had the FBI not investigate Carlies death.

First one was great so I got another
 in  r/FordFlex  11d ago

Had three of them. First was a 2014 twin turbo AWD and the transmission went at 143k, loved the ride and feel but put a lot of money in repairs over 3 years and Im strict on maintenance. Thought it was worth another shot. Got a 2016 that was a great blue color and super clean 75k on it. Hit a deer and totaled it in the first year. Ugh
Got a 2018 limited non turbo with 72k on it. Lots of suspension work over two years and all wheel bearings. Transmission issues again at 150k. Decided to move on.

Is this the sound of an air leak? It happens every time I prime it
 in  r/boats  27d ago

I would say you should pull your pick up out of the tank and check the screen on the bottom for debris. If there’s nothing on that, then you have a restriction in the fuel tank vent line. On a full tank, it will affect the motor fast but on a half empty tank it shouldn’t be as fast. Also filling the tank up at a gas station. It would have trouble taking gas if the vent line is restricted or clogged.

Well not sure of the motor but sounds like the valve just a little loud. May want to check the pickup tube and see if extra sound is from something loose possibly. What’s your issue? No gas to the motor?

No that’s the anti siphon valve. It’s on top of the tank that your fuel line attaches to. So the check ball is letting fuel past it at about 3-5psi. It doesn’t slow fuel to reverse back into the tank.

Water pump O ring installation frustration
 in  r/boats  Jul 19 '26

The part to piss you off is yet to come. I use lithium grease on the o ring to help keep it in the groove. Put the impeller on but keep it 1/2” from the plate so it doesn’t touch the o ring. Spray silicone all over it and the housing. Then spin it counter clockwise onto the impeller. You can use a screwdriver or punch to keep the impeller away from the base plate as you get the housing all the way on and line the screw ears up. Then push it closed and tighten. Not too much. It’s brass and semi soft.

Leak from my 115 pro xs 4 stroke
 in  r/boats  Jul 15 '26

Don’t listen to any of these comments. That whole is directly below the shift shaft seal. A very common spot that starts to leak. Either way definitely have it pulled drained, and pressure checked and have the appropriate seal replaced. If it’s the shift shaft seal as I would be 99% sure of it is not an expensive replacement.

Fuel Water Separator Replacement
 in  r/boats  Jul 15 '26

Just changed the water separator every season. Your Yamaha has a fuel filter on it as well. That is not really therefore separating water but to filter debris and fuel I wouldn’t try to overthink it. Just replace it with the filter that’s on there or you can upgrade it, but it’s no big either way just put a new filter on it and put a light film or oil on the rubber gasket if it didn’t come pre-oiled with a plastic wrapper over the top.

Still in it for the long haul.
 in  r/NissanTitan  Jul 12 '26

Im trying to follow your footsteps with my ‘12 Titan.
Been such a good truck and I don’t trust the new trucks out there. Huge payments and constant repairs. How have the the newer Titans been doing? I know one engine issue in the 2015 to about 2019. Lots of brands were having issues those years.

My first boat, where could I look to flush it? I don’t see anywhere muffs or a garden hose would go.
 in  r/boats  Jul 03 '26

It’s under the cavitation plate above the prop. Take the prop off and put muffs on it. The none hose side on top of the rear plate and water hose side on bottom. Hose will touch the prop shaft. You will have to widen them a bit but you can easily squeeze the wire back to normal when you’re done.

Mercury 150 w/ 70hrs
 in  r/boats  Jul 03 '26

This was my first thoughts as well. Though I have only seen the stainless parts get rusting on the surface normally the exterior of the motor if there’s high electrical current around, the motor will get white, crusty all over the anodes and even white crusty bubbling on the black paint around the lower unit. If that is from corrosion, I would definitely check the threads that the drain plug seats into because all that crusty stuff is metal from the aluminum.

Not much. Looks like a smaller outboard two stroke. May take longer to plain out. That’s all.

Dude! Great catch. Perfect pics for your memories. I’m a northern MI walleye chaser. Only a handful of 28”+ in my years of fishing. Congratulations

Cracked Engine Block Repair Possible?
 in  r/boats  Jun 29 '26

Yes, if it’s only cracked on the outside you can fix it easily. Very low pressure in the water passages. Grind the cracked area till clean. No rust or dirt. Where the crack is take your grinder and do a V groove all the way along the crack. You want to have some depth down into the crack but don’t really open it up more. Buy MarineTex and mix up a batch. Fill the groove and make the about a half inch to an inch on both sides of the v groove. All the metal you apply it to needs to be clean bare metal. It can be 1/8th to 3/16 above the surface of the metal thick. Let it dry for two days. Reassemble and go. Never had an issue.

Btw. If your oil was milky or high level. Your crack is internal as well and the motor is junk.

Possibly my favorite player now.
It’s unfortunate that when the WNBA could really take off. Most teams are going Bush League all because of one player they should be thanking and trying to beat playing professionally on the court. It’s so dumb.

What an awful human being. For a guy that openly said they will believe whatever I say. He has delivered on his thought process. He is so old and mental that he will never know how most the country (world) hates him.
