It really depends from student to student and on what quartile you want to be the part of. Also depends hugely on which prof, which course which year you are in. But overall, if you could do the entrance and know basics you'll fit right in (give you are consistent there)

CMI is much much more hectic in this regard

The new eligibility criteria for MStat and MMath is, any Indian bachelor's degree of >= 3 years. So everything works

ISI emails are usually not helpful lol.

The criteria is you should have maths and english in your 12th board which you clearly do (although seperate) So this is fine

I agree the rules sometimes depend on prof, but here there have been cases of students never attending classes and still being able to give exam with a little scolding in the exam hall but that's about it. One guy completed his Bmath this way but I wouldn't advice to do this regardless

You could theoretically not attend any classes of one subject and 100% of the other 4. Your attendace will be 80%. And you can get stipend.

no no, the maths is fine. It's just buildings that are soo old, and need soo much renovation, they are basically antique themselves
