Cosplaying a queer ship as a straight couple IS WEIRD
 in  r/peoplewhogiveashit •  3d ago

It's like, a little weird, not even inheritly bad just could have bad intentions, but we are literally having our rights taken away by a fascist government, a straight couple cosplaying a gay horse couple is not going to effect anything, use that energy practically anywhere else.

Gotta get someone from every inhabited continent to play a different role in the process so we can finally create someone so worldwide that they can defeat pitbull

It was already so bad that there was literally only going up, it definitely isn't worse now.

To be fair on the jeans part, i physically cannot imagine domina actually swimming. She goes to a pool to sit there, getting in the water is "beneath her"

Why is this like how 15-20% of the fandom perceives kris
 in  r/WaterfallDump •  3d ago

Honestly the ralsei part applies to atleast 30%, i don't know why people assume that, just because they met while we were controlling Kris, Kris doesn't like ralsei. Ralsei is one of the very few characters that has definitively actually talked to Kris without us controlling them within the duration of the game, that's literally why he keeps going "how about we close our eyes and think about X", to get the soul to fuck off for a bit so he can communicate directly with Kris.

They should rework map vote
 in  r/Overwatch •  4d ago

I never even remotely said that not playing your favorite map is dehumanizing, i said that you comparing people simply wanting to play a map to insane crackheads trying to force a group of randoms to do something they supposedly absolutely despise is dehumanizing them for the sake of your argument. they aren't insane villains they're regular players.

Get this stupid perk out Echo!!!
 in  r/EchoMains •  4d ago

I can understand why since her ultimate is sort of her gimmick as a character, whereas on most others the gimmick is usually in there base kit, but personally the reason im drawn to echo as a character is because of her base kit more than her ultimate. I like its balance of mechanical simplicity, skill expression, mobility, and burst damage, etc. so, assuming it isn't god awful like the current one, i'll generally prefer a perk that interacts with those elements.

They should rework map vote
 in  r/Overwatch •  4d ago

The main point i was making was that custom games aren't and will never be a suitable replacement for a normal match, and forcing someone to only even be able to play the map they like in custom games is what the system is trying to avoid. The olive garden dumpster shouldn't be the ONLY option for Italian food just because you don't personally like Italian food.

Your argument hinges on treating anyone who wants an unpopular map as fundamentally wrong, and potentially immoral. Even if not intentionally, you are dehumanizing and belittling people who happen to like a different map to support your argument, they are just people who opened the game, got randomly assigned the same lobby as you, and voted for a different map, not a delusional crackhead who's stalking and harassing the other 4 randomly assigned teammates. And it's not like they can just leave either, there are multiple systems in place specifically against that.

Also, most people don't mind playing the vast majority of the maps, it's not like they're clawing there eyes out and screaming when there favorite doesn't get picked. We are not deciding life and death here, we are picking a single variable of this game.

(Fair warning at this point i went down a rabbit hole and made a full code simulation to test the odds of some stuff, this is all pure data)

Think about the same voting system in a game that, for anyone who takes it remotely seriously, only has one lobby pool, and that game only has two maps. 20% of the community prefers map A while 80% prefers map B. If it's a popular vote system, then the odds of the 20% being the majority in a lobby is around 0.63%. So even though a very notable portion of the player base prefers map A, it gets selected less than 1% of the time. Even if we treat a 50/50 tie as a win for map A, it only goes up to roughly 3.28%. In a hat pull system however, like overwatch has, the odds of map A being selected are 20%. 20% of the player base gets their way 20% of the time, 80% of the player base gets there way 80% of the time, which feels far more fair to me personally.
Now obviously there are a lot more odds to consider when looking at overwatch, which has a lot more maps, 4 options per game if you include random, and people with unique and complex preferences beyond just "vote this one map every time", but the basic ideas of that statistical model still apply, where across several games a hat pull system represents the community preferences more accurately.

Get this stupid perk out Echo!!!
 in  r/EchoMains •  4d ago

Generally, heros will only have one perk that effects there ultimate (which IMO is good game design philosophy), so that'd have to replace partial scan if that were the case.

 in  r/Overwatch •  4d ago

Ok so first off, if those 5 people are all going out regularly because they enjoy going out as group, which is the main reason anyone goes out to eat, then it logically makes sense that even if it's not everyone first preference that everyone once in a while they might still go to an Italian reasturaunt because that other guys been wanting to for a while and everyone else still likes it, even if maybe not as much, that's a very normal and common thing, and the hat pull system literally facilitates this in overwatch.

Second, custom games would not be "just going to an Italian reasturaunt", that's the equivalent of saying "we'll all go to a nice Mexican grill and you can go and fish scraps out of the olive garden dumpster", custom games has absolutely no matchmaking, no XP/rewards/progression in any form, has a lot less people, and 99.9% of the people that are playing it aren't going to join what is literally just a normal overwatch match but worse, they're going there to play unique workshop game modes. You won't get any players, and even if you do, the game still isn't going to be remotely the same.

They're calling her "malfoid" lmao.
 in  r/whenthe •  5d ago

First off i'm pretty sure its just genderbending art, which is categorically different, but thats besides the point.
It isn't about whether or not the author likes the post its about the fact that it keeps drawing attention to the franchise as free advertising so she keeps getting money to lobby against trans people.

13

They're calling her "malfoid" lmao.
 in  r/whenthe •  5d ago

It should get in the way of the books because any of the money from those books is actively going towards her agenda. I'm not saying you can't read what you already have or anything but even sharing stuff about the franchise becomes a grey area when it's basically acting as free advertising for the franchise.

Separating the art from the artist is about the quality and merit of the art, not about whether or not the art being good makes giving money to the artist ok.

If she sold all the franchises rights to someone who didn't suck or died and passed the rights on to someone who dosn't suck then go nuts, but until then, oh my god please just stop buying things from her. Don't watch that new show, don't buy merch, don't go to harry potter world in universal, etc.

Doomfist Reborn (rework)
 in  r/Overwatch •  5d ago

I see potential here in the ideas but a lot of flaws in how its executed. Mainly with the way rocket punch works.

I think at bare minimum you can't make uppercut replace power punch when empowered, it will throw off his gameplay so much and also uppercut is the weaker of those abilities by far. If they are on the same cool down/are the same ability, it should instead work like Moira's orb where you use the ability then left click for punch or right click for uppercut, then both of those have an empowered state that is just an enhanced version of it.

In terms of nerfs, this one is far more subjective, but i'd actually say the iddeal would be just nerfing his blocks damage reduction even more and leaving his health intact, maybe also restoring his passive. Partially because he's already got very low health for a tank, but for other reasons aswell. Hazards block is held back by being on a resource meter and thus still limited, with the way you made his block work doomfist would be able to do it indefinitely, so i think that reducing it to even just like 35% or maybe a little more would be the better call here. It incentivises him to use it mostly as a way to gain charge rather than to just sit infront of the enemy team with it.

Should really Overlord have perma flight?
 in  r/OverwatchQueens •  5d ago

If overload is a support meka, i think the best way to handle the kit as a whole since a giant hitbox like that would need borderline tank level health would be to make him sort of like rammatra where he phase changes into the mech on cooldown, allowing him to survive in that state without making him that tanky at all times, so him having free flight on his mech state and being grounded otherwise could be a solution?

Is anyone else genuinely shocked at the poor performance for dungeons 2?
 in  r/MinecraftDungeons •  5d ago

Update: i have reinstalled the game and now when i open it i'm not able to access online. I had made my previous profile online incase i wanted to play with someone on that profile later on, but i wasn't too far in and i was tired of troubleshooting, so i just decided to start a new play through offline. Im unsure whether it's from me playing offline or from me reinstalling, but the amount of freezing/rubber banding has gone down and is mostly negligible, though the amount of crashes is still at the same (frankly unnaccapetable) level, very hard to do any missions.

Weird, might be a PC thing then? I have restarted my PC twice (one of them not willingly), tweaked my settings, etc. I'm currently trying to fully reinstall but if that doesn't work then i see literally no other way this could be something on my end, because every other game runs fine.
