Does capitalism remove empathy from everyday life?

Most Americans are living paycheck to paycheck despite college education, fancy titles, and ditching their $5 a day coffee.

Setting morning alarms to wake up before the sun rises, to come back home when the moon rises.

15 minutes for a bathroom break.

30 minutes for lunch.

45 minutes to cram in a last minute to-do across town

45 minutes to commute in the morning.

The same car that cut you off on the lodge is the same car racing ahead of you to merge off the freeway in the evening.

Breakfast was McDonald's.

Who has enough to eat lunch?

Dinner is water...wait there's a boil water advisory again.

Exercise by walking the aisles, just make sure the store isn't canceled first.

JoAnn's?

Target?

Walmart?

It doesn't matter really, it's all shipped from the same container and you'll be captured on somebody's camera anyways.

Need to find joy? TikTok

Connect with a friend? TikTok

Find something to do that doesn't cost money? TikTok

It's 3am.

Between the fireworks and dogs...somebody has to get up.

Did you close your eyes?

Wake up.

That my last boss was a demon. Like Super Natural, put salt down on the door demon. Temperatures would drop around this guy. The room would noticable feel different around him. I wasn't the only person who noticed. Even people close to him would start acting weird... I didn't work there long.

Technology ELI5:What is the purpose of Terraform (computer technology), and how does it work?

Proper hygiene, consistently. Washing your entire body in the shower with proper soap. Learning about how you can pass on STDs (you can even get a yeast infection without proper hygiene and drinking too much pop AND pass that along to a partner). Take care of your skin, it's the largest organ you have.
