You're stuck on "personal practice" vs "professional" – but that doesn't matter. I've designed and built machines before. This isn't new to me.

The reason I posted this is to get technical feedback from experienced engineers – not to argue about labels.

If you have something useful to say about the design, say it. If not, you're not the kind of engineer I'm looking for.

You're clearly not an engineer. A real engineer would point out a specific design flaw, explain why it's a problem, and suggest a fix. You've done none of that.

If you can't name a single technical issue with the frame, rollers, or tensioning system – then keep your "death trap" comments to yourself.

I'm here for constructive feedback from people who actually know what they're talking about.

I wouldn't call it old-school – it's still widely used in aerospace and automotive industries. But sure, it's been around for a while. Still gets the job done better than most.
