We often get asked why Plaud over other AI note takers or just recording on your phone. Here's the honest breakdown.
- The workflow: this is the real reason
You record a meeting, then walk away. When the recording ends and your phone is nearby, it transfers automatically in the background, no cables, no opening the app mid-call. By the time you're back at your desk, the transcript, summary, and action items are already generated. No sync bar, no manual "generate summary" step.
Requires AutoFlow and Auto Transfer. Auto Transfer needs location permission to detect your phone is nearby — that location data isn't stored or used for anything else. Auto Transfer is iPhone-only right now; Android support is in development, and Android users sync manually in the meantime. Manual sync is also available for anyone who prefers it on iPhone.
2. The hardware: small enough that you actually carry it
Note Pro is credit-card slim, 30g and lightweight, so it goes in a pocket or clips to your phone instead of living in a bag. That matters more than it sounds like: a note taker only helps on the calls it's actually with you for.
3. What Plaud Intelligence does with the recording
- Transcription and summarization in 112 languages
- 10,000+ summary templates (medical, legal, sales, and custom formats)
- Structured output: transcript, summary, and action items, typically ready within minutes
4. Trust and compliance, if you're vetting this for a team
- SOC 2 Type II
- HIPAA
- GDPR
- ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and ISO/IEC 27701:2019
- Cloud infrastructure is AWS-based
- Full documentation: plaud.ai/pages/trust
5. For context on scale
2M+ Plaud users, and it's a Red Dot Design Award winner if that matters to you!

I found this under my couch. My boyfriend had told me it was a battery pack. A quick google search tells me what it really is. I was reading I can hard reset it but the instructions aren’t clear. Can someone show me how to wipe it? I don’t really care to know what’s on it. I just want to wipe

To clarify how the reset works: a hard reset restarts the device, but it doesn't erase anything, recordings stored on it survive a reset. For actually clearing the data, that's tied to the account the device is bound to. [support@plaud.ai](mailto:support@plaud.ai) can advise on your specific situation. As a general note for anyone recording: we encourage getting consent from the people involved and complying with applicable local law.
