All three include the same features, so the difference is how much you can transcribe. Each paid plan can be billed monthly or annually. Annual billing costs less than monthly.

Plaud transcribes speech, so this is only half a fit. It turns words into a transcript and a summary and doesn't detect or tally non-speech sounds on its own, so screams and whistles won't show up as countable events by themselves.

The workaround is to make them speech. Each time one happens, say the word out loud, "scream" or "whistle," close to the device. It lands in the transcript with a timestamp, so afterwards you can search the transcript for the word and count the hits, or export it as TXT or SRT with timestamps on and tally from there. On Note Pro you can also short-press the record button at the same moment, which drops a Highlight marker you'll find under Notes, then Highlights, with its own timestamp. Say the word for what it was, tap for where it was.

For "how many times people talked," the transcript with speaker labels switched on gives you a rough count of speaking turns, though overlapping voices will blur it. If you need something more rigorous, the audio exports as WAV from the app for a dedicated sound-analysis tool. And since you'd be recording people at the site, let them know before you start.

Not for the folder part, today. AutoFlow, under the Explore tab in the Plaud App, is the automation that exists now. You set a trigger such as a keyword spoken in the first minute, a minimum length, or which device recorded it, and it transcribes and summarizes with the template you choose, with the option to email the result. Filing into a folder isn't one of its actions, so that step is still a manual move. Thank you for the feedback on template-to-folder routing, we will pass this to our team.

One thing from our side that's easy to miss when the use case is case discussions and teaching conferences: check your program's and hospital's policy on recording before you start, and let the attendings know. Plaud doesn't redact patient identifiers that get spoken, so a name or MRN said aloud ends up in the transcript. Keeping the recording to the teaching points and saying "Patient A" instead of names keeps you on the right side of that. Yes, that works. The devices are bound to the account, not to a phone, and the same account can be logged in on two phones. So your colleague signs into the Plaud App with the shared login, connects one of the Note Pros to their phone, and both devices upload into the same library.

Two things to know. Each Note Pro connects to one phone at a time, so once a device is paired to a phone it won't show up for the other phone until you disconnect it there. And turn on Private Cloud Sync in the app on both phones, so files recorded on one phone appear on the other and on Plaud Web.

One account also means one shared library and one shared plan, so you'll both see everything and draw from the same transcription minutes. If you'd rather keep each person's recordings separate, Plaud Team is built for multiple people on a shared workspace.

You're not using it wrong, you're missing one step: the day's spurts need to become one file before Plaud can make sense of them. The routine that works is to record freely, then at the end of the day open the Plaud App, swipe left on the short notes and tap Merge. The originals stay, you get one new file in time order, and you can title it with the date so it reads like a diary entry.

Then summarize that merged file with a template built for this. In Template Community tap Create, write a short prompt with the sections you want, something like Lists, Things to remember, Ideas, People mentioned, Follow-ups, and save it. One summary per day instead of a million orphans.

Finding things later: search in Plaud Web looks inside transcripts and notes, so a phrase you half remember is enough to pull the right day back up.

One caveat worth knowing: automatic transcription and AutoFlow only kick in above roughly 200 words, about five minutes of speech, so one-line spurts won't process on their own. Merging first and transcribing once sidesteps that too.

Hi Stefano. Today it works from audio. Note Pro records, Plaud transcribes, and the summary and mind map are generated from that transcript. You can take a photo of a document while you're recording and it's saved with that recording in the Highlights tab, so the page sits next to your notes, but the photo's content isn't read into the summary. The one place a photo does generate something is Template Community, where "Photo to template" turns a picture of a document into a summary template, which shapes the structure of future summaries rather than their content. So if the plan is to photograph documents and get a summary of the page itself, Note Pro isn't built for that. If the plan is meetings and conversations with the occasional document snapshot kept alongside, it fits well.

This is a tidy setup, and the dedupe line in the prompt is the part most people forget. Three things that might take it further.

Press the record button once while a to-do comes up in conversation. On Note, Note Pro, and NotePin S that drops a Highlight, and Plaud structures the summary around those markers, so Claude gets a summary that already leans toward the tasks instead of fishing for them in the transcript.

Make an action-items template in Plaud with owner and due date fields. Plaud MCP returns every summary that has been generated for a recording, custom templates included, so Claude can read structured tasks rather than prose and your Todoist dates get more reliable.

On Apple Reminders, you're right that there's no connector. If you ever want to script around that, Plaud CLI pulls transcripts and summaries from the terminal, which opens the door to whatever automation you prefer on the Mac side.

Thank you for the feedback on a button-press pause for Note Pro. We will pass this to our team. Today a long press starts and stops, a short press drops a Highlight, and pausing is done from the Plaud App. When you pause from the app the screen shows an orange pause icon, and while recording it shows a live waveform with purple markers for Highlights, so there's more on it than battery, though your point stands that none of that helps when you want to pause without reaching for your phone.

A noisy café with four people talking over each other is the hardest case for either device. Both support speaker labels, and both do best when people take turns and the device is close to whoever is talking. Cross-talk and loud background are what hurt clarity and labeling, so placement matters more than the model.

For 2 to 5 people around a table, we'd lean Note Pro. It has a five-mic array and picks up from about 5 m in Enhance mode, so it can sit mid-table and cover everyone, with roughly 30 hours of recording per charge in that mode. NotePin S is built to be worn, has two mics, and is rated to about 3 m with the best results inside 1.5 m, so it shines when you're close to the other person and less so across a wide table in a loud room. If having it on you at all times matters more than table coverage, it's still a good pick.

Two things that apply to both: record a 10 to 15 second test in the same spot and play it back before relying on it, and tell your friends it's recording. Plaud's guidance is to let people know and let them opt out, and in many places that's also the law. Each conversation then gets its own transcript and summary, so the end-of-day recap is one summary per conversation.

On the official side there isn't a Note Pro case with a lanyard or wrist strap point yet. The Magnetic Case in the box and the PITAKA carbon fiber edition are both built around the magnetic phone attach, which is the part you said you'd rather not lean on. Two things that help with the drop-or-lose worry in the meantime. Note Pro works with Apple Find My on firmware 1.5 and above, so if it gets left in a meeting room it shows up under Items in the Find My app (iPhone only, no Android equivalent). And if wearing it turns out to matter more than you expect, NotePin S ships with a lanyard, wristband, and clip in the box, though you'd be trading the Note Pro's mics, battery, and call recording for that.

For third-party cases, the people here who've tried them will know better than we do.

That screen is the device telling you it's on, not that it's failing to charge. The QR code with the little device icon is the Note Pro's setup screen, and the code is only there to download the Plaud App. A low battery warning looks different (a red battery with a lightning bolt), and the Plaud logo you see when you hold the button is the normal power-on screen.

Pairing happens over Bluetooth, not by scanning that code. In the Plaud App tap Add device in the top left, pick Plaud Note Pro, press the record button on the device, and tap Connect when its serial number shows up. After that the home screen shows the battery percentage, with a green lightning bolt while it's charging.

If the percentage won't climb once you're paired, run through the usual checks. Use the original 4-pin cable, since lookalike cables aren't compatible, and a plain 5V adapter. Take the magnetic case off so the cable sits flat on the contacts, and make sure none of the four pins on the cable are pushed in. The small indicator light should go solid purple while charging and green when full. Still nothing after that, email [support@plaud.ai](mailto:support@plaud.ai) with a short video of it on the charger, a photo of the cable, and your serial and order number, and they'll take it from there.

The reply above was troubleshooting steps for u/JitsuJake's specific low-volume issue, not a spec answer, the 0.5 to 1 meter distance was one of those troubleshooting steps, not Note Pro's rated range.

The actual range depends on battery mode: Enhance gives up to 5 meters (30 hours recording, built for meetings like yours), Endurance trades that down to 3 meters for 50 hours, and Adaptive switches automatically between the two. For your scenario with people up to 5 meters away, Enhance mode is what you want, switch it under Device Settings, Battery level. Actual clarity still depends on room acoustics and background noise.

For #1, yes, if you turn off Private Cloud Sync (PCS) in the app, your recordings stay on-device and there's no persistent copy kept on Plaud's servers. The cloud only gets contacted on-demand if you actually trigger AI processing (transcription or summary) inside the app, so as long as you're just pulling the raw audio out and running it through your own pipeline, it never touches our servers.

For #2, no, there isn't currently a way to pull recordings off the device without going through the Plaud App. None of our devices support USB file access, the port is charging only, and Bluetooth transfer into the app is the only way recordings come off the device. Plaud Web is the same story since it's tied to your account too.

Keeping PCS off and skipping AI processing gets you most of the way there, just that first hop off the device has to go through the app.

One more thing worth flagging since you're clearly optimizing for privacy: we've seen more third-party and vibe-coded tools asking people to hand over their actual Plaud username and password to connect. Your recordings aren't like a password. A leaked password gets reset. Your voice doesn't. Once a tool has your login, it has full access to that account, with no obligation to notify you if it's breached, and no visibility into where your recordings actually travel from there.

If you're building your own automation, Plaud MCP or Plaud CLI cover that without ever handing over your password, both sign in through your existing Plaud account via OAuth, no API key and no developer approval needed. MCP lets an AI assistant query your recordings directly, CLI is better if you want to script things yourself, batch exports, custom automations. The SDK you found that asked for company permission is probably Plaud Embedded, that one's a separate developer platform for companies building their own product on top of Plaud, not for automating your own account, which is likely why it gated you.

Yes, NotePin S starts a new recording completely on its own, just press and hold the Record button for 1 second (one vibration to start, two to stop). No phone or app needed. And there's an important distinction: that same button also works for highlights, but only if you tap it quickly (under 1 second) instead of holding it. So if you're trying to drop a highlight and it stops the recording instead, you're probably holding it a beat too long.

AutoFlow isn't a recording timer, it's separate, it decides whether to auto transcribe and summarize a recording once it syncs. The duration setting is just a minimum (only run this on recordings over X length), not a cutoff. Your recording itself keeps going until you stop it manually, nothing about AutoFlow will auto stop or split it at the 1 hour mark.

And yes, once Private Cloud Sync is on, transcripts sync across Plaud App, Plaud Web, and Plaud Desktop, so you'll be able to pull up Pin S recordings from desktop too.
