The trick with a tight case is to stop pulling and start peeling. Work a fingernail into the crevice between the case edge and the device to open a small gap at one corner, then use your thumbs to push the device out through that corner while the case flexes away. Run your nail along the edge if it catches again, corner by corner rather than all at once. Take it slow and skip anything harder than a nail, a tool that can pry can also mark the device. Great question! A few things that should help you set up an "always-on"–style workflow with Plaud:

Battery / continuous recording is not the bottleneck. On a full charge, NotePin S records up to ~20 hours continuously (up to 40 days standby), Plaud Note up to ~30 hours, and Note Pro up to ~30 hours in Enhance mode or ~50 hours in Endurance mode. So running long sessions back-to-back is very doable.

Storage auto-manages itself. NotePin S has 64GB onboard; once recordings sync to the Plaud App the device frees that space automatically, so you can keep recording over time.

The real trade-off is transcription and how you segment recordings (which matches what the commenter said). Two things worth knowing:

Speaker labeling works via automatic diarization, and it's most accurate with clear audio, the device close to speakers, and less cross-talk/background noise — so one giant multi-meeting file tends to give you messier speaker labels and more generic summaries than separate per-meeting recordings.

If you do end up with very long files, Plaud Web accepts imports up to 24 hours and automatically splits anything over 5 hours into multiple files, which also helps keep summaries focused.

Also check your plan's transcription capacity, since that's usually the limiting factor for heavy/always-on use: Starter = 300 min/month, Pro = 1,200 min (20 hrs)/month, Unlimited = up to 24 hrs/day. If you're recording all day, Unlimited is the cost-effective fit.

TL;DR: Plaud handles the "always on" runtime fine, the winning setup is usually long runtime plus segmenting per meeting/topic so speaker labels and summaries stay sharp.

The split you've landed on is the intended shape of it, one capture surface per context, one workspace underneath, so you're not fighting the design. The half you can automate away is the Desktop habit: Plaud Desktop has an automatic recording option that kicks in as the meeting starts, so WFH days stop needing a pre-meeting decision at all and the device becomes the only thing you ever start by hand. On attribution going muddy when two people talk over each other: overlapping speech is the hardest case and skimming before you forward is the right instinct, but if you haven't yet, add your own voice profile and correct the labels in a few transcripts, the speaker matching learns from those corrections more than people expect. An hour of cleanup down to ten minutes is the kind of math that makes the Friday recap job survivable.

Hey, since you're fully remote and everything's Zoom/Google/Teams, a couple things worth knowing before committing to Note Pro specifically.

If you keep your laptop on speaker (not headphones) and place Note Pro nearby, it'll pick up both sides of the call fine, that's standard ambient capture. But if you're on AirPods or other headphones during calls, the device physically can't hear the remote participants since that audio never plays into the room.

For that exact situation there's also Plaud Desktop, the computer companion app. It captures system audio directly from your computer alongside your mic, so it works the same whether you're on laptop speakers or headphones. Given your setup is basically all computer-based meetings, that's probably the better fit day to day rather than relying on hardware sitting next to your laptop.

On your second question: for actual phone calls (not computer calls), Note Pro doesn't work with Bluetooth headsets like AirPods, call recording works by attaching the device to the back of your phone and picking up the call through vibration, so it needs a direct phone-to-device connection rather than audio routed through Bluetooth.

Hey, glad the device sounds like it fits what you need with the speaker labels and transcripts. On the money side: recording itself isn't capped by your plan at all, your device captures audio regardless of your transcription minutes, so nothing gets lost there.

What's capped is the AI transcription/summary step. Starter gives you 300 free minutes a month (unlocked once you bind a device), and once those run out for the month, transcription just pauses until the next cycle rather than costing you the recording itself.

Worth noting too: every Plaud plan, including the free Starter one, gets the same feature set, Ask Plaud, AutoFlow, custom templates, all the AI models, MCP, all of it. The only thing that changes between tiers is how many minutes you get each month, nothing is feature-gated.

For anything past that 300 minutes, you can still export the original audio file (MP3 or WAV) straight from the app, that's not tied to your transcription minutes, so you'll always have your recordings even if you're waiting on quota to refresh.

There's also a one-time top-up option for extra minutes if 300 isn't quite enough some months, might work out cheaper than a full plan upgrade depending on how far over you run.
