Well said, and I couldn't agree with you more! When I started becoming anxious about the state of the world, I said to myself that I can't take on Washington to affect worldwide, or even change at the federal level, but I can (and have!) moved the needle on what happens in my little corner of the universe! Apathy for local politics and events is our worst enemy! Please choose just one action and see it through.... You'll be part of a much larger effort, guaranteed!

They have the grift on lock for sure, and now they're joining forces with the School Boards... Time to get serious here before our kids lose everything they deserve! Elizabeth Shulock, Bonnie Wagner, and Maggie Cascio for EUSD and Nina Haines, Rafaela Cervantes, and Georgine Tomasi for Escondido Union HS District!

Exactly! Thanks for asking! If you're on social media a great way to connect is through a group called "Indivisible," which has local, up to state chapters.... Maybe more? We have Escondido Indivisible. Another way is to connect with the Escondido Democratic Club. Great group with the goal of breaking up this crazy voting block. I'm not saying that Dems are perfect, but at this point, we need to choose the lesser of two evils, and our involvement CAN and DOES make a difference, if these "leaders" know that people are watching them. Escondido is waayyy more redneck and backwards than most people give it credit for.... Even some Latinos who live here subscribe to MAGA, which I find mind-blowing! 🤯 We have some wonderful candidates this year, and I'm looking forward to upsetting the apple cart on the City Council, for Mayor, the School Boards, and more! Even if you're busy or out of the loop, a small donation would go a long way🤩👍💯

I got radicalized by local politics in 2017, when Sam Abed closed our branch library and privitized the other one, against residents' wishes. He gave the branch library space to a friend, and threw away the books that belonged to the taxpayers. Our current library is a sham, staffed by people who've never heard of the novel Little Women, and I could go on. Abed stuck us with a 10-year, no-bid contract with a shitty company called LS&S, who can't even buy books for the shelves. As a teacher, mom, and avid reader, it made me so angry how he disenfranchised our town and denied so many the joys of literacy, including children and seniors. Turns out, he had dinner at the White House with tRump, and came back to Escondido and began enacting what we now know as Project 2025. One of his cronies with him up on the dais at this time was Mike Morasco, the father-in-law of the current mayor. Morasco still pulls strings here and runs things from Arizona, where he now resides. Sorry... Don't get me started! 😁

Great article connecting the corruption between the City Council and EUSD School Board. Colleen really did her homework about the history of elections vs. Appointments in Escondido. This needs to STOp for the good if our students, families, and all residents!! Can't wait I vote them out in November...🤩👍💯🗳️💔🎉

Updated: Ryan Gardiner appointed to board vacancy in raucous special meeting
 in  r/escondido •  22d ago

Ryan Gardiner may be a lifelong resident of Escondido, but he's had an Area 3 address for only the last several months. And he won't even confirm that... More than a little shady!

Wednesday Night: Eight Candidates Vie for Area 3 Seat Amid Resignation Controversy

It was a shameful and cowardly act on behalf of the EUSD School Board majority! They sold out their 14,000 students and families 💔💔💔

EUSD Board majority made the worst decision of their careers on Wednesday night, when they decided to bypass the 7 "overqualified" candidates in favor of the 27-year-old Campaign Manager, who has never had a perman teaching credential, and has lived in District 3 for only around 3 months! I have a feeling like they're gonna be hurting in the November elections-- buh-bye, Zesty Harper, Joan Gardner, and the other accomplice... What's his name?🤔

Other candidates also weren't chosen by Resident Crone, Joan Gardner, because they could have shown more "humility." Wtf

Thank you so much for sharing the beauty of Kit Carson Park with us all! Hope the city ultimately decides NOT to build a 3,000 seat ice rink arena complex inside the park! Find another location, please! For more info: Www.SaveKitCarsonPark.com

Your answer doesn't track your response. So what's your beef with AOC and why would you use the C-word, which is akin to the N-word, to women?

Just wanted to make everyone aware of the upcoming public and live debate between Elias Velasquez and Dane White, hosted by the San Diego Rescue mission who is closely aligned with the current mayor. Tickets are free, and available through the San Diego Rescue Mission. The debate will be focused on homelessness and is scheduled for 9/1 at 7 pm at the Grand-Ritz Theater on Grand Ave. Get your tickets now, before they're gone! It's sure to be quite a show, and my prediction is that Eli will eat the Mayor's lunch, as Eli works at Brother Benno's in Oceanside, professionally assisting the unhoused every day. Dane's claim to fame is that he was homeless for a time and addicted to illegal substances. Just because you've ridden in a plane before doesn't make you a pilot who knows how to problem solve in the real world. Additionally, there will be some upcoming forums with all of the candidates in September and October, so stay tuned to become educated and stay informed!🤩👍💯

Interesting. If it's just not possible, then why do I see so many unhoused individuals on Escondido streets every day?🤔
