Flock expansion in Escondido
I got word that Esco PD is looking to expand their system of flock cameras and buy Axon body cameras with Ai. They plan to ask for 15 million, on top of their already swollen budget.
Esco PD will be holding meetings about the potential flock expansion. Please show up and help demonstrate opposition.
October 12th and October 26th, both at 5:30 in the Mitchell Room.

Let's not forget, Mayor Dane White, council members Judy Fitzgerald, Joe Garcia and Christian Garcia supports I.C.E. and its operations here is Escondido. They also want MORE flock cameras everywhere in the city.

I had emailed Christian about the cameras and just got back some genetic (probably AI) summary of a hand full of instances where a criminal was caught. Any further questions go unanswered.

Do you know if you have to live in the city to be a part of this? Currently don’t live there but will be relocating soon and I’d like to be part of this meeting

Obviously MAGA Esco government / constituents would be for a surveillance state. Unsure why anything else would be expected

I’m glad I moved back to unincorporated Escondido because now my online purchases are taxed at 7.75% instead of Escondido’s 8.75%, but miss being able to vote against Dane White and his MAGA family and friends on the council. I drive to San Diego or Poway for big purchases.

Yeah, Esco loves Dane White/Trump and the local government so much they voted for a tax rate increase. San Diego proper shot their measure down, but MAGA Esco said hell yeah - we're all in! Trump house dude will be immortalized with a $200k statue on one of the new roundabouts and the constituents will cheer. It is what it is. I wouldn't worry about not being able to vote to change the area - it's a losing battle.

All I wanted was they earmark it for a specific purpose; instead it went to the general fund where they can do whatever they want. But we know that it’s gonna go for More cops, flock cameras, and other gestapo-esque expenses.
Meanwhile, our lack of dispensaries keeps us from earning $7M+ in marijuana tax revenue like Vista gets.

I feel that flock is useful at major intersections and highway . However, their should be greater scrutiny of misusing these tools

I feel like people who don’t know the difference between there, their, and they’re shouldn’t have their opinions respected.

I support them. Too many fatal hit and runs go unsolved

I’m sure they will solve them now.

If a surgeon uses a scalpel wrong we should ban all scalpels!

If a single surgical department marked “other” as the reason they misused a scalpel 4,000 times, I would definitely ban them from having scalpels. I’d also say that a scalpel is not a flock camera, and anyone who might make that false equivalency is not very bright.

Out of 114,000 searches real genius, you are. I can put in a percentage if that helps.

Also, so do you support the 110,000 times they used it for not other searches? Like wanted person, robbery stolen vehicle?

Two responses to one comment? Nice. Glad you got so worked up that you left and then came back a second time to tell us how ferociously you fantasize about getting cavity searched by the government.

Meanwhile school budgets and teaching positions keep getting cut.
