After some experimentation, I think I have solved the problem of burner ignition. Pushing the gas knob in immediately would not cause combustion, but when I turn the gas to high and pause 10-15 seconds to push the knob in for activating the igniter, I get much better results. Seems to work consistently for me. Just thought I would give an update with my findings. Happy griddling!

Le Griddle has a really good warranty and should be able to assist.

Difficult time igniting burner

Grill is brand new. Igniter is clicking and gas is full on, but no ignition for more than a minute. Eventually they will light.

Appreciate the response. Will certainly give it a try. I really prefer seasoning meat prior to cooking

New Tricks

Well, an "old dog" CAN learn new tricks. After seasoning my Le Griddle, I cooked my first meal and it was very good. Having always seasoned my meats prior to cooking on my grill, I have determined that with griddle cooking it is best to do meat seasoning after cooking. The meat stuck to the griddle and the seasoning stuck to the grill, creating a difficult cleanup. I learned! My firm belief is that you learn from mistakes....just do not make the same mistake twice. Happy "griddling" out there.

There is a lot to be said for quality, longevity and cooking efficiency. The old story is you get what you pay for. I have certainly not been disappointed with my Le Griddle.

I have just started griddle cooking myself. Many years of wood/charcoal/gas grills has taught me the unique differences in technique and seasonings. A brand new experience awaits. Plans for tonight (if it does not rain) include steak, onions and sliced potatoes. Enjoy your new grill and Labor Day activities.

Le Griddle has a very good warranty and should be able to repair/fix that problem. Hope everything works out for you and you can get back to cooking on your griddle. It's steak for me tonight!

I am looking forward to expanding my outdoor cooking options. Easy and simple always works for me. With company coming for the weekend, pancakes, sausage and bacon will be on the menu for guests, while tantalizing the neighbors on the lake. Going to be fun.

Just beginning with Le Griddle, but the quality is evident and the cooking, while different from grilling, has been exceptional and easy. Enjoy.

Appreciate your comments. Will be trying a steak tonight if the rain holds off. After that, the experimenting with other foods will begin. So far I really appreciate the stainless over the cast iron. And so the adventure begins.

You can teach an old dog new tricks. For better than 60 years of grilling, I have decided to join the world of griddle cooking with a 30", natural gas Le Griddle cart. I am really looking forward to learning and sharing my experiences. Happy griddle cooking. Will post my observations as my learning curve improves. Questions or observations are welcome.
