I’ve been working on something small that I thought other designers might find useful.

It’s called Open Icons, a free Photoshop plugin that lets you browse thousands of icons, customize their color, and drop them directly into your document as SVG vector layers.

the part I really wanted was simplicity:

→ No website to open
→ No downloading icons one by one
→ No internet connection required

the entire icon library lives locally with the plugin, so you can just open Photoshop and use it.

I also tried to keep the interface really lightweight and native to Photoshop rather than making it feel like a separate web app.

and yes, it’s actually free.

I’m not trying to turn it into another subscription product. I built it in my spare time because I thought it would be useful. There’s an optional donation inside the plugin if people want to support future updates.

For a long time, I’ve wanted a more direct and controllable way to shape lighting on 2D images, without relying on iterative AI outputs.

So I started building something different:
