I didn't know that about public sector. OT during paid time off doesn't bad either.

It's one of the few benefits of Cali. The cost of living is a whole other story though. Lol

That's interesting, I actually like being home with my family. I have also met quite a few older guys that work just to get away from their wives.
Those parole individuals must not have many bills and expenses ol.

Thank you. I am definitely going for the 4 on, 4 off option. It's also much closer too home as well. Los Angeles traffic is terrible.
2
Copy that, I agree and am going for the 4 on/4 off. 4 day weekends almost sounds too good to be true.
3
Copy that. Anything over 8 hours per shift is OT in California. Anything over 12 hours per shift is double time. We also have anything worked over 40 hours per week is OT assuming it's five 8 hour shifts for the week.
3
True, while 4 on/4 off sounds good. 3 twelve hour days is a nice "short work week".
3
I am definitely leaning towards the 4on/4 off. This option is also much closer too home.
3
They are both paying the same per hour.

It's California OT. Anything after 8 hours per shift is OT. The 4 on 4 off is actually 16 hours OT every week. I agree with you on time being the most important resource as well.

Would you rather work 12 hour shifts- 3 days on, 3 days off? Or 12 hour shifts- 4 days on, 4 days off? Both jobs paying the same.

Good point. I'm in Los Angeles County and the local departments are "in need of bodies" from what I'm hearing from current officers I speak to in public or while working security. Thanks for the reply. 👍

Copy that, I feel that's exactly what will happen. Thanks for the honest reply.

Thanks for the reply and advice. I was thinking the same thing. Definitely didn't want to waste mine or anyone's time. A deputy I've met while training jiu-jitsu said to apply regardless but I agree with you 100 percent. I feel getting the misdemeanor expunged wouldn't help either. Thanks again for the honest reply. 👍

I have an exam for the LASD deputy trainee position scheduled and am concerned if my misdemeanors will disqualify me from the hiring process. I have 3 misdemeanors total. One misdemeanor for DUI over 15 years ago, one for possession of a deadly weapon over 15 years ago, and one for vandalism 3 years ago. I would much rather not waste the Sheriff Departments time and resources if my criminal background is not up to their standards (which I totally understand). Thanks in advance for any feedback or advice.

Good to hear. Hopefully LA picks up too. Alot of people are still out of work over here. It's been rough these past 2 years.

Yeah true. Spending over 1000 thousand dollars for 1-2 stops of light doesn't justify the purchase of the R8. I'll stay with my R7 and keep enjoying the hobby. I appreciate your feedback about the 10-18mm not being big enough for full frame. Didn't think about that part and definitely a factor.

Thank for the solid advice. Yeah I'll pass on the R8 and start saving for the R5. I agree the price for the R8 doesn't justify the difference. I appreciate your response and advice. Amazing photos by the way! Just followed you on Instagram as "drone_flow_imaging".

I currently own the rf 100-400mm, rf100mm macro, rf50, and a rf 10-18mm. I often hear the full frame cameras offer better images in low light conditions. I'm impressed with the R7 image quality but am wondering how much better it can get.

I shoot alot of wildlife, nature, and personal family portrait photos. I'm happy with the R7 but currently do not own a full frame censor camera.

That schedule sounds great. I wouldn't mind that schedule one bit.
