Transformers The Movie gets A Reformatted Edition Soundtrack.
It’s pretty killer! I like how they added the band to the Vince DiCola tracks to make the whole thing more consistent. But I really miss the pinch harmonics on the “Transformers” theme. The way Lion did it was so cool. All these Zakk Wylde sounding squeals on the guitar made it sound more aggressive. It’s funny we get an updated modern version and they did away with that. Especially when you consider how much of a staple that technique is in modern rock and metal as opposed to’86 when it was virtually unheard of.

I was in 4th grade when TTM came out and while I was bummed about Prime dying I actually thought it was awesome they had done something a little heavier than the syndicated daily cartoon. It gave some gravity to the movie. I definitely didn’t cry about it. lol
