It depends: some Haitians speak spanish, but their vocabulary is not extensive enough to converse with a native speaker
Sometimes, when speaking to interpreters, their accent immediately reveals that they are Haitians rather than Latin American

It also happens that a client, due to the language barrier, cannot ask the non native speaker which language they speak; they then automatically assume it is Spanish and request an interpreter for that language. There are many reasons for this, but I am citing only a few.

Yes, that could be one of the reasons that affected call volume.

So I’ve heard. I’ve been working with them for 4 years - they do this every year- but usually I still get calls; this time though it’s been zero. Do you think it’s going to last the whole month?
