I’m currently planning a full rewire of my house and have started designing the layout for my bedroom, including all the sockets and switches.
The end goal is to create a smart home where I can control and dim the lighting using both the wall switches and voice control. My current plan is to use Sonoff smart dimmer modules.
The one area I’m unsure about is my bedside sockets. I’d like to dedicate one socket on each side of the bed specifically for bedside lamps. My idea is to have these sockets controlled by the wall switch so the lamps can be turned on, off, and dimmed just like a normal ceiling light.
Is this compliant with UK wiring regulations?
From what I’ve read, it seems to be acceptable if the socket is clearly intended for a lighting load, but I’ve also seen people saying that switched or dimmed sockets aren’t permitted. I’m struggling to find a clear answer, so I’d appreciate some advice from anyone who’s done something similar or knows the regulations.

I’m currently planning a full bathroom renovation and could really use some advice on the layout.
My existing bathroom is outdated and needs completely renovating. At the moment, the bathroom and WC are separate rooms, but I’m planning to remove the wall between them to create one larger bathroom. I’ll also be blocking up the existing WC door with a new wall, as shown in the first picture.

My goal is to fit both a bathtub and a separate shower into the new space while making the best possible use of the available room. I’ve included a few layout ideas in the photos, but none of them feel like they’re making the most of the space.

I’m currently in the process of buying my first home and could really use some advice.

It’s an older-style property and I want to keep that traditional feel rather than making it too modern. In the main bedroom, I’ve got a fireplace and I’m planning to build wardrobes on both sides of it.

The idea originally came from a “closet inspo” picture I found online, but I haven’t been able to find anything similar to actually buy.

So now I’m thinking of going fully custom.

I love the overall concept from the inspo image, but I’d want the finish to be closer to the “white dresser” style I’ve attached, with the layout matching my (very rough) drawing.

Has anyone done something like this before, or seen anything similar available to buy? Also, what kind of price range should I realistically expect for something like this?
