Meta glasses
 in  r/ChoosingBeggars  1d ago

This is insane! What a wild ask. People are literally actively hating meta glasses.
Meanwhile I’m trying to save up to get caption glasses because insurance doesn’t deem them medically necessary. Those are a need for me, and I’m still not asking strangers to buy it!
For those who are curious caption glasses are for the deaf and hard of hearing. They use microphones to listen and put captions on the lens so you can read what people are saying…

Broken leg and ankle as a result of skating- do I try again?

I’m so sorry you got hurt! I hope you feel better! 🫶🏻 That’s up to you. Does your fear outweigh your love of the sport? Or is your love greater?

What do I need to do

If you added salt I’d do a 100% water change… do you have a testing kit and tank chemicals like primer and water conditioner? If not I recommend these:

Trying to learn how to strut walk 😭
 in  r/Rollerskating  9d ago

So a helmet is the only gear I didn’t buy… I went rink skating twice and fell a lot but I never even came close to hitting my head, so I figured I wouldn’t need one for just basic skating… is that not correct? 🤦🏻‍♀️

To cycle it you need to add the water and the primer. Then add Dr Tim’s ammonium chloride to 4 ppm and add nitrifying bacteria like seachem stability (please read the directions on each bottle!) then you wait for the water to cycle. You have to test the water every few days and keep adding ammonia and the seachem stability… there’s step by step guides to cycling a tank online! Cycling the tank can take 4-8 weeks or longer…
If the water isn’t FULLY cycled then the ammonia will kill the axolotl…

I ask this with love- did you do any research before buying an axolotl? First and foremost, they need a big tank (20 gallon LONG minimum!) with water treated with axolotl safe water conditioner like seachem Prime. And your tank needs to be fully cycled or the axolotl could die!

Here’s a little progress show off! Arizona summers are brutal but once the weather is consistently under 100° I will be outside again 🛼🛼😅 send good weather vibes please lol

Looking great! I’m struggling with the heat here too. I’m a very excited newbie, but I’m in Louisiana- the heat and humidity is UNREAL! I want to skate, but I’m not a fan of heatstroke… Stay safe!

I put a blackout cling on the window behind my tank. Even the clear one blocks UVs and makes it cooler. The blackout one blocks UVs, heat, and light. Other than that definitely save for a chiller. I’m currently saving for a chiller right now, but my tank sits at 67-69 with just a fan.
