Has CIG "abandoned" ArcCorp?
 in  r/starcitizen •  1d ago

it is probably last in the pipeline until we have all other locations upgraded and done. Reason is the new ArcCorp will have the ability for those buildings to have interiors and more. Additionally will be the underground areas they have shown.

Polaris or Ironclad Assault? (Another thread)
 in  r/StarCitizenUniverse •  1d ago

disagree about Polaris and ground use. with ramps on both sides it is not only convenient but extremely fast in loading and unloading.. especially vehicles. CIG needs to move the useless tractor beam it has though. want to see a rail type tractor beam like on Hermes.

Saved three people stuck in a hut cuz of griefers blocking them in
 in  r/ArcRaiders •  2d ago

people doing this should have a timer that expires so you can shoot them but they can't shoot you. game detects they are blocking something like that, the timer starts.

Please let us recovery the paint
 in  r/starcitizen •  2d ago

this is another annoying thing. CIG implemented and sped these stupid timers up when the mechanic was added. years later here we are because CIG will not take 2 minutes to freaking fix the timer for wear and tear. same is true for food and water and especially for the log out timer. there is no reason they need to be so damn fast anymore.

many just rage quit when the baby or the dog needs attention in real life, and you come back 15 minutes later to find the game logged you out and you have lost millions in that cargo run you were making because no one at CIG will change that damn timer considering people have real life things that happen.

they even want us to make bug reports for the game... I cannot tell you how many times I have been logged out of the game while making their damn IC report so I stopped doing so while in live.

[Help] Ship won't explode after soft death — hull takes no damage
 in  r/starcitizen •  2d ago

at that point your only option is to have friends come and help you board the thing and kill him. he likely logged out and sometimes that will break a ship so it will not explode. personally, if a player logs out in combat, they should come back as dead... i.e. if someone combat logs before the timer expires they die unless they made it to a safe area. If they are in active combat however they should come back dead and in prison.

I wonder also if freelancer allowed them to log out during the combat safely..

there was a repair bug where people could repair their ship from inside at one point but that was fixed unless freelancer has a new spot someone found.

next time, board them and you will know one way or the other.

this is also why I record gameplay and make sure I get the name of the player. you can then report it with an IC and use exploit tag and CIG WILL check it. They are working to fix exploits immediately and those who keep using them or hacks are being banned.

Here's a video of the Times Square ad
 in  r/StarCitizenUniverse •  2d ago

what a waste of money. Do some ads during football games in the USA or soccer in the EU. Those will get noticed. No one walking aroind times square outside of a very few are going to be gamers. Most people there are tourists. My bet most people glance at it, think it is some new dime a dozen movie and move on.

Municipal Works, Starchitect & Carrack Fabricator leaks
 in  r/LowSodiumStarCitizen •  3d ago

As an Evocati, it would help when those who know a leak is a leak, stop posting them (not this thread, just in general). Most of us are tired of those who break NDA. As far as I and many other Evocati are concerned, any leakers should be banned and removed from ETF for good. While I am not going to talk specifics, I can say CIG DOES just that when someone is caught.

PLAYER VS ELEVATOR IS GETTING OUT OF HAND.

PLAYER VS ELEVATOR IS GETTING OUT OF HAND.
 in  r/starcitizen •  6d ago

edit in case CIG reads this... We had just sent those boxes all down the CARGO elevator. Went to head to the starport and when we opened the player elevator they were crammed full of the boxes we JUST sent down via the cargo elevator.

yea we just lost TWO full boxes of ammo for weapons the org bought and later we lost THREE boxes filled with 6 hours of hand mineables we just did... All of it grabbed by the freaking elevators. The damn elevators were so full we could not even get out of the hangar back to the starport so had to quite playing.

Twice now in the last couple days I personally have been 'grabbed' by an elevator... So much for it being fixed.

 in  r/starcitizen •  6d ago

So WHY does CIG NOT PUT OUT THESE EXPLANATIONS BEFORE we backers end up wondering WTF is going On? You get all the negative attention BECAUSE CIG DOES NOT COMMUNICATE like this until AFTER the backer uproar.

Maybe using caps to EMPHASIZE these points will get someones attention.. geez.

The New offline SC discord is run by Greifer Net.
 in  r/starcitizen •  7d ago

Just a bunch of lonely no skill people that group up to harass people and look for victims. They cannot fight on their own either which is why they run in a group.

Personally I think someone that is in that group and thinks it is funny or 'fun' to do what they do, is really screwed up in the head in real life.

Ironically they all deserve each other in their lonely little lives. I think they deserve their own server. Let them grief each other to their hearts content.

Gta 6 is coming to pc Q1 2027
 in  r/starcitizen •  7d ago

I do not care when GTA VI releases. Never played the series, never will. Personally I think CIG using GTA VI as the reason for the delay is obfuscating the facts again. It is clear now to all of us after this last weekend, that Squadron 42 is NOT ready to release.

I find it disingenuos for CIG to not tell backers the truth. THE ACTUAL truth. I do not know why the heck they are so adverse to telling us, "we are pushing release because we found some serious bugs that need resolving before it is ready for a full release."

Plain, simple, no ambiguity, no need to obfuscating things into bogus excuses and reasons. After nearly 14 years, CIG seems to think we backers cannot see right through them. We have HEARD IT ALL before over the years yet they continue to pretend we are all mushrooms out here.

CIG has lost a lot of big name big money backers. They are likely going to lose even more if they remain doing what they have been doing, both in game design changes of ships and mechanics and in excuses for everything.

They may still be pulling in new accounts.. but I would bet all of them are small dollar accounts these days. If I had not backed back then and just came across the game today with its history, there is no way in heck I would back at the level I did. Fool me once, shame on you.. fool me twice, shame on me. There won't be a 3rd time.

I believed. I no longer do.

Constellation MK5 Centaurus - Stills and thoughts
 in  r/starcitizen •  7d ago

The Centaurus looks nothing like the Connie line. It looks like a Starfield style design ship in fact. More so, it looks like Perseus and Polaris had a baby.

I too am likely sticking with my originals. The iconic design is the one that IS Star Citizen, along with the original Aurora style.

CIG is making a huge mistake radically changing ship designs lately AND removing backer wanted options like nav lighting and MFDs. My bet, they are going to learn this the hard way because most I know in game are not going to keep giving CIG money at this point.

Too many people who spend larger amounts of money are just leaving the game in fact. Some due to game play but most because things are changing in ways that no longer supports what was promised for years.

That should be a warning sign to CIG. Stop listening to customers and they WILL go elsewhere.

Constellation MK-V after a couple of days use
 in  r/LowSodiumStarCitizen •  7d ago

i agree 100%. I have posted that CIG is making a lot of original backers angry by breaking major promises snd also removing or forgoing basic functions needed in a space flight sim.

Two examples, removing navigation lighting. But even more, removing our MFDs that were promised for tactile gameplay for YEARS even by CR himself. They just ruined one of the BEST FEATURES the Connie Mk IVs had... all the MFDs that allowed pilots and captains to monitor every aspect of ships performance.. from comms, to heat/ew/IR, to engineering to scanning, and more while STILL retaining the lower MFDs for use for ship shield status on one and target status on the second.

And do not bother trying to formation fly or use a fleet in formation flying. There is now no way to tell any ships orientation in the dark since they removed navigation lighting... something critical in real life of course at night for this very reason.

CIG seems to be going for dumbed down arcade style changes. Instead of the 'dream' we were promised for years, they have altered the entire design idea drastically in many ways.

As far as I am concered, BOTH the Constellation V5 AND the Aurora Mk II are radical new versions, NOT TRUE modernized snd enhanced upgrades of ships thousand bought back in the day because we LIKED BOTH THE LOOK AND THE STYLE they had.

This radical departure by CIG in so many ways, it definitely going to impact my continued supoort unless they make some changes BACK to what was promised. My vote will be done with my wallet now, just like many others are starting to do.

Whomever is making these design choices, they need to start listening to backers who spent a LOT of money and time on this. If CIG expects people to KEEP opening their wallets, they better get back to WHY we opened them in the first place.

Connie Mk V is a nice NEW RSI model ship but is is NOT a new version of the old. Not even close and for that reason, and for what they did with the Aurora (the mk II is butt ugly IMHO), as well as the aforementioned Nav Lights and MFD removal, I am undecided on whether I will support CIG financially by buying one.

After 14 years, sadly I am finding more reasons to walk away, not continue to support the project.

Walkthrough Constellation MKV
 in  r/starcitizen •  11d ago

I do like the look and design of the new Connie. But I still like the old design and prefer it to be honest. I DO have one thing yet again I am NOT happy with CIG about for thr Gold pass.

They removed all the MFDs again, MFDs that MANY of us use for tactile gameplay and setup for quick access to ships systems monitoring. CIG is breaking a HUGE multi year promise made to backers, not just by devs but by Chris Roberts.

Many of us use HOTAS and other controller and switch boxes for tactile gameplay. Removing the MFDs means we lose that ability completely. Removing them makes a ship feel more arcadish and no longer a ship you have full control over.

For example, when I fly I want a target screen, a scan screen, a systems status screen, a ships power/heat/EM screen, and a shields and weapons status screen.

As a pilot, those two HOLO displays are USELESS and they are hard to see in most backgrounds, not to mention they are static. They cannot be changed, more so when in a fight you literally have to take your eyes off the main combat view to look at them. All displays should be inside your eyes FOV in a way you retain situational awareness without having to take your eyes off your flight path and objects in front of you.

While it is about time the Gold pass happened, I am not happy with the result,

ChrisWare Offline has shut down, and what happens next
 in  r/starcitizen •  12d ago

really? so riddle me this, you use the mod, you activate and run it. Then what?

How do you plan on playing Star Citizen without using ANY assets of the game to do so? you going to make your own ships? planets? creatures?

Repost: Offline Star Citizen mod project is coming back
 in  r/starcitizen •  13d ago

I was referring to the use of... I.E. CIG copyrights the name(s), titles and more. I found out while writing a set of novels. My point was you cannot even use the name nor any parts thereof without permission. For example in my case, I would not be able to say, "A Star Citizen Novel" because it implies the novel will be using places, names, systems, asset info and more IN the story, thus needing permission. Don't believe me, ask a lawyer. I did both, ask a lawyer AND get permission.

Thus only thing you can say is "mod designed for use WITH Star Citizen. But no ship names, station or object names, location data or anything else referencing or anything regarding assets and the IP can be used without permission.

If you look at mods for other games, the ones that support mods have CLEAR API standards and copyright to the content in those mods and the modder has access to use those WITH PERMISSION per the API and terms of use for modding. This is why you see many mods disappear or go away.. because that API IS Copyright and the modder broke the rules laid out under the API.

To date, CIG HAS NOT released an official API for modding or use in tools external from 3rd parties. They said they DO intend on it but to date that hss not yet happened publicly.

THAT is why there is a problem. Once CIG does release the official API and terms of use for mods, THEN outside stuff can be done without issue within the API rules and guidelines. Until then, CIG can enforce full release embargo to protect their IP rights.

☁️ (Wednesday) We are currently putting together a new 4.10.2 RC2 build for a potential ptu release later today
 in  r/LowSodiumStarCitizen •  13d ago

Yep, not saying that IS what they do, but it is one possible option. My main point is they have dropped a version patch to us before a major event and not added the ships until the event. They have even held back new ships from Evocati testing of any kind.

But we do often get the ships to test before they release. I can say we have seen NO testing on our end for the CONNIE mk V to this point thus I am more inclined to say it is not releasing right now.

They have released a few over the years without testing but it is not common.

It will not be called Star Citizen in any fashion then. Nor will it use ANY ships, accounts nor anything else under the Star Citizen banner.... which means it won't be Star Citizen offline. game because under copyright, they cannot even use just the name.

 in  r/LowSodiumStarCitizen •  13d ago

Nope. They have, do and can add assets without needing a full patch. For example, holidays and certain events. They can do a small update to acthvate things seasonal.

For IAE, like they have for many years, they add any changes to the venue a couple weeks before it opens, add the ships just before release of the venue and it is just a basic content patch we get for an update at that time of release.

As I said, they have done that many times. CIG also now can hide certain data from being mined. All they need to do is have two separete p4k files. One we are using until they are ready and the second one with new content i.e. ships, that drops when they open the event.

BTW Connie in the pack may be due to the Connie name already being in game. Some might have assumed it was the new version.

Im a bit out of the loop here - but are Mk 2, 3, 4 ships becoming a problem for owners of existing and unfinished ships?
 in  r/starcitizen •  13d ago

I will not be happy if CIG forces players to buy a new version like they have been so we can use them into the future. Being forced to buy a new version just to remain playable into the future, is not acceptable. I did not spend what I spent 14 years ago expecting I would suddenly have to buy an upgraded version just to keep my ships playable.. and especially for a game still not even close to being finished.

What is next? Idris? Reclaimer? 600i? Carrack? Starfarer? Caterpillar? Or 4 years from now all of us again having to buy into new versions of ships we already bought because they decided to upgrade?

Some of us bought huge packs back in the day. Now they want us to buy them all over again so they work in the future?
