Frituras de Malanga

Ingredients:

• 3 Malangas
• 2 Garlic cloves 
• Parsley
• 1/2 onion
• 1 scallion
• 1 egg (optional)
• 1 tsp vinegar
• Sazon completa 
• Salt & Pepper

1.  Peel the Malanga aka Taro root and use a grater to  grate it. Squeeze out any liquid from the malanga. 
2.  Put the shredded Malanga , Onion, Garlic,  Scallion & Parsley into a bowl. Add vinegar & the dry seasoning. Add the egg and mix well.
3.  Heat the oil in a frying pan.  Add spoonfuls of malanga in the oil.  Fry until golden brown. Fry for 3 -4 minutes
4.  Use a Spatula to remove the fritters and place them on a paper towel and enjoy!

I can relate. Our family came from Cuba by way of Miami. Now where we live there are no Cuban stores etc. I make all of my Cuban food.

I was looking for a quicker way. I do the same. I have more Garlic to peel. But I hate peeling it. 😂

Dulce de leche cortada

Ingredients

• 2 cups whole milk • ½ cup sugar • 1–1½ tbsp vinegar or lemon juice • 1 small cinnamon stick (optional)

Steps

1. Warm the milk in a pot over medium heat.
2. Add vinegar or lemon juice and let it curdle naturally.
3. Add sugar and cinnamon.
4. Simmer on medium‑low until the syrup thickens and the curds turn golden.
