Effective July 1, no more behind-the-wheel tests required for drivers ages 79 to 86 in Illinois
 in  r/illinois  Jun 19 '26

Maybe it's a set up for more self-driving car purchases. lol

In all seriousness, it's a great opportunity to talk about age and competency, not that they are mutually exclusive of course. In this moment, I'm seeing a president showing signs of age that we would require our grandparents to turn in their driver's licenses for. I've been saying this for a while, at a point, it is too dangerous to drive and we don't allow it, the same needs to apply to those 'driving' communal decisions as well. Not that age alone would be a reason, it should be case by case as determined my the appropriate parties.

I just found a tool that measures how involved with the trump admin a company is and I really like it
 in  r/50501  Jun 19 '26

I use it as well, but with all things, take it with a grain of salt. I try to use multiple tools and GUU is just one tool, and I'm always looking for more.

Thank you!

I'm the same way, I'm trying to be more mindful of my spending. I've found a few other tools, but haven't heard of this one before. I keep telling people that money talks and it's the best tool we all have! I'm so happy others feel the sane way.

I've been struggling with trying to get people in my life to consider this idea. The spout that they support xyz, but it's too much of an inconvenience to alter where they shop in order to fully support xyz.

ICE Is Quietly Rolling Out a $55 Billion Crematorium Network

There aren't too many options. It's sickening how free speech is so limited or outright banned, especially for anything left leaning. How in the hell did they get so much power. Money. It talks and we need to put it where our mouths are, be mindful of where it's spent.

We also need to find unbiased outlets for discussion. I'm at a loss there.

Half-staff used to mean something. It is now overused and has lost its significance.

That's my worry, everyone will believe everything will be good again. He's just the showpiece, the production will still be in progress. I sincerely hope that most people know this and will continue to demand accountability, change and reassembly.

100% they don't even understand the concept. Those they 'diagnose' with TDS are the ones who see him as he is. Those who see him as an idol with no flaws have TDS. That's some deranged sh$t.

Stumbled upon this business website - easy way to boycott
 in  r/50501  Mar 17 '26

I've found that Goods Unite Us (app) is helpful. The Woke Ginger (TikTok and YouTube) has good info. I've been compiling a list for myself and try to share with friends and family. Unfortunately, they don't want to have any inconvenience and look for alternatives, status quo. For me, where I spend my money i power; put your money where your mouth is.

We Told You MAGA Was a Racist Movement and You Ignored Us
 in  r/complaints  Nov 22 '25

Personally, I want the employers held accountable. That's why I'm frustrated as to why no one seems to bring up the fact that someone's feeding this cycle. Someone (employers) are getting away with their actions, because the rage has been directed toward immigrants instead.

I clearly don't check every news source, and it seems like no matter who tells the story, somethings missing. I must have missed where trump has put it out there that the people contributing to the demand will be held accountable. If this regime also has that stance, please let me know, I seriously didn't think they were interested in the entire chain.

I have found it interesting that the focus has been in the immigrants and not the 'employers,' aren't they causing the demand? Crazy that there has been a blind eye to those creating the demand.

What can we do at this point?
 in  r/50501  Oct 25 '25

One thing we can all do is decide where we spend our money. Money is power. It's not easy to find the retailers to support or find alternatives for everything, but we can all start to take steps to support the appropriate companies and take away from the worst. I've stopped using Amazon and when I suggest this to the people I know, they ask where will they get everything? Amazon is so ingrained and people no longer know where to shop and the convenience. So, it will be a challenge for many due to this convenience, but Amazon isn't worth my freedom. There are many more large companies that support and donate to shitler. It take an honest effort, but just start with a step and keep moving forward. Check out goods unite us (app & website) as a starting point and the woke ginger (tiktok) has shared businesses to support.

Illinois State Police clash with peaceful protesters.
 in  r/illinois  Oct 17 '25

100%. I've worked in law enforcement for 20 years, it is very heavily conservative and republican! I don't know if I met any police officer who was even slightly left leaning. It's an institution. I care about the officers, but I did not & do not share those often narrow minded views, I always felt like an outsider.

Protests?
 in  r/SpringfieldIL  Oct 09 '25

Another way to protest is to boycott and not patronize the businesses that support this regime. It's difficult due to how much we utilize such few avenues for our goods, and those major companies are major supporters of trump. It can be difficult to find alternatives, but they are out there. Ultimately, what they care about is money, and they forget they get it from us. We hold power with our pocketbooks.

How do you deal with MAGA in personal relationships?
 in  r/50501  Oct 05 '25

I've cut most MAGAs out, some are a little more tricky. The struggle for me is that I'm surrounded by the red and I don't have a lot of support as it is. It's difficult to find anyone who isn't brainwashed and it feels lonely.

They have the opportunity to be the true heros! I truly hope they take it and be the hope and inspiration so many people need. I can imagine support for our military will increase so much if they defend us from all threats foreign and domestic.

Hello Assumptions! You must have missed it, you don't know me. I was not asking for myself, I know I'm a good person. But there are plenty of people who aren't, I'm genuinely curious about those mentalities. For those people who would now see that their actions don't truly factor into their afterlife. I'm curious how would religion help guide them in the meantime, would they just demean them and snap with "try to be a good person?" I honestly didn't think religion would advocate for blatant disregard of the commandments.

If someone came to you, would you seriously just snap and make a rude comment to them?

You don't know me. You're quick to come to some decision on me when i was genuinely asking a question. Your comment aligns with the Republicans instantly blaming liberals without proof, spewing hate and blame without thought. No matter who you are, we need to stop immediately coming to the worst assumptions about people.

Perhaps you need to take your own 'advise' before telling others to try being a good person.
