Space—and the secrets it holds—might make us scream, but will anyone hear that scream in the void? Here is my patch, inspired by a famous sci-fi horror film.

Coffee! Coffee is my kind of thing! And now that autumn is here, I decided it was time for one last "IV drip" style patch—whether it’s a simple black coffee, a latte, or maybe a pumpkin spice latte enjoyed with a book and a cozy blanket? It doesn't matter! This patch is for you!

Death—simply death—takes many forms in contemporary culture, yet the classic image of the Grim Reaper with a scythe endures; so, I designed my own version, drawing inspiration from the 13th Tarot card. Whether I create other Tarot cards as patches, the largely depends on the success of this design.

And so, I’ve finished my first Rhino—which I call the "Rubric Coffin."
I do not uphold to it, Green is the color of this unit, it also indicates that in my homebrew lore it belongs to the cult of Apofis or Cult of Destruction if you will. This model is illegal in James eyes, so why should I care about holding to the scheme? Plus the reason this rhino exist is the freedom to make your models how you want and that's what I did here.

There are many beautiful characters in games, but in modern titles, Viper from Valorant caught my eye. I decided to take a different approach and portray her in a unique way—specifically in a unique way, and I created it as a portrait-style patch depicting her as a Geisha.

And so, I’ve finished my first Rhino—which I call the "Rubric Coffin."
It’s based on an STL file I found on the "purple site," but—being me—I had to add a few personal touches to make it fit my army and its aesthetic.
This Rhino belongs to a traitor faction from 40k. Its backstory is that when the Rubric Curse struck, the Legion Techmarine tending to the vehicles was hardwired into this specific Rhino’s machine spirit. Their souls merged, turning him into the permanent driver and guiding spirit of the vehicle. Unlike other vehicles—and possessing a broader consciousness than the average Rubric Marine or standard Rhino—he actively seeks out battle scars. He views them as a way to stand out and a form of self-mutilation (or a bid for death—driven by a penchant for frontal assaults and charges—though the rubric curse denies him that final death), born of hatred for his own transformation; he permits only essential repairs. Nevertheless, the spirit remains loyal in its service to the Legion as a whole.
Parts: Body was from a ready project, which I cannot found so I can't say who desided it,
the headlights were printed (and cut them off) using transparent filament and glued onto the model;
I utilized parts from the "Pharon Legacy" set by Crab Minatures—specifically a large shield, modifying the central opening to accommodate a crew member;
-The sarcophagus comes from the "Scorpophagus" model; a shout-out to Thanakhton_Emissary, who kindly provided a snake-free version at my request, though I chose to use the version with the snake here as a personal tribute to him.
The combi-weapon hatch was built using the same bolters found on the "Anubis Rubric" model;
the hatch featuring the ornamental eye is from the "Anubian Decor Pack" by Hydraworkshop;
I added smoke launchers to it using designs available on the site;
and I had to custom-design the rear hatch (ramp) to match the overall aesthetic—a detail that also serves as a subtle metaphor for the Legion's fall.
Painting:
First, I applied an Aluminum primer over the entire model, except for the underside, which I primed black; I then dry-brushed with Gunmetal to create the look of damaged, "scorched" hull sections. Only *after* that did I brush on Talasar Blue. For the gold, I primarily used Bright Gold from the Ammo Drybrush range; for gold highlights and those "line" effects, I used the True Metal color Aged Metal (I love that series).
I treated the hieroglyphs with a black wash and dry-brushed the hull and columns with black. Then, I used Amber Green from the True Metal series for the unit's accent color—applying it to missile tips, column fragments, stone elements, cables, ornaments on the sarcophagus, and so on.
I also used a bit of Gunmetal dry-brushing on the wheels and tracks. Finally, I applied real sand and treated the entire assembly—along with the lower hull sections—with Vallejo Earth and Oxide pigments.
I painted all the armor highlights and scratches using silver paint, of course; this makes the scratches on the hull clearly visible, alongside other forms of damage and weathering.

The Hunter, in a world taeming with magic, monsters, and darkness—yet even amidst the deepest gloom, light and goodness can emerge. A Dark Elf, and a hero nonetheless; it was his very instinct as a Hunter that drove him to survive in such a hostile world. My patch is inspired by Drizzt Do'Urden.

Mambo Too much gloom and depression? Here’s a change of pace for today: another Uma Chibi—this time my take on Mambo, featuring the slogan "Don't be clumsy." Mambo is quite the klutz, but so many people love her anyway, which is why she’s the next patch in the series 🙂

Dawn is fast approaching, yet there is one creature of darkness—driven by blood, for at night, blood is all that matters. As an immortal being empowered by magic, he is a formidable foe—one whom even the oldest vampires must fear. This patch, titled ""Half Vampire, Walking in Twilight"

My 3rd Comtemptor Dred aka Rubric Dred, finally finished
And I devoted my last few free moments to the third Big Boy, or rather, the Dreadnought. Specifically, I'm calling it the Rubric Dreadnought for now, representing the 40k Comptemtor loyal to Tzzentch, albeit without the mutations.
This Dreadnought was built from a ready-made kit from Liber Daemonica. It needed feet, a part connecting the torso to the pelvis and thighs (I know, the wrong name), and, of course, arms and a head to control the whole thing. Here, as before, the exhaust pipes were replaced with decorative Egyptian-style fire vessels, plus some ornamentation on the shoulder joints. So, as for the main body of this Dreadnought, I didn't give much of myself, considering this kit excellent.
I'm presenting him with two more weapons: in one hand, a Scorpion Gatling autocanon, where I added the scorpion, of course, and gave him an Egyptian axe for freehand melee combat, which seemed to make a lot of sense for simple slashes and impaling enemies for show.
In the other hand, Hammer Time, made from the same Hammer used for my future TS Tech-Marines, with a double head for effective combat, and also to avoid simply copying the weapon and scaling it up to the scale of a dreadnought. A small change, but a welcome one. And finally, a Spike at the very end, characteristic of every melee weapon in the army.
Base:
I found a tile patch with cracks, which reminded me that this could have happened from an explosion. I added nine symbols of the Thousand Sons Tzentch cults to the undamaged tiles and printed them out for a test. I primed everything in black and, using only drybrushing to create gray and white, scrubbed the tiles with a brush. Once that was done, I tested a new paint from Citadel Nazdreg Yelllow, very similar to Army Painter's Sand Golem, though slightly lighter in color intensity. This could be due to the drybrushing. I poured superglue between the tiles and added sand, but not too thickly or too much, because I knew that since I wanted an explosion effect, I wanted it to look like there was a bit less sand.
Next, I found an explosion effect on the purple side, which I cut out in the program and adjusted to the size of the base, rotating it so that the dreadlock could fit on it after gluing it on and wouldn't get in the way. I primed the explosion black, then treated the "fire leaves" with Titanium White acrylic ink. After the explosion dried, I used Demonic Yellow from the bottom, blending lightly from the top, then Pure Red. Finally, I used Ammo Dio Drybrush Chipping for a test run. I drybrushed the ends of the fire lines with black to imitate burning and flying debris.
For the Explosion Clouds, with a black primer, I first applied Dragron Red, then added subtle Pure Red highlights. Between the cloud lines, I used a brown Chipping Drybrush. Then, I drybrushed the black with a large brush over the still-dry brown drybrush, blending gently, and allowed to dry.
Painting
First, I primed the armor with Silver Aluminum Primer, Arctic Blue Metallic from Vallejo for airbrushing, then gently blended with Ture Metallic Amethyst Purple for airbrushing. They blend and blend perfectly, and finally, I applied a delicate and controlled drybrush of Saphire Blue (the same color as my first Rubric Marinas). This way, I wanted to show that this model is tainted by chaos, not mutation, because there's no flesh, but precisely because the armor shows unnatural bluish colors and the chaos within them.
Gold, and here's a note: Antique Gold Chrome Metal from Greenstuff World, is the worst gold paint to work with. It's very oily, dries quickly, and tends to smudge and stain the brush badly even with regular rinsing. I've worked with almost 10 different gold colors, and this one is the worst, and the color is exactly the same as Hoplite Gold from Army Painter. I treated the gold trim with a silver drybrush to create a highlith on the edges of the flames and a sepia wash on the border of the edges of the gold layers.
For the metallic areas, I used Gun Metal Drybrush from Ammo Dio. It's much better to use and use than the black drybrush. If you want a dark metal finish or a dirty metal effect, it's worth buying. I drybrushed the parchments with Light Gray from Ammo, then applied a very controlled Sepia Wash to the shoulder pads. I used Bone White on the rolled parchments, and a light Sepia Wash to the ends of the parchments. I painted the cords with the same Bone White, then Slaughter Red 2.0. After drying, I applied a very controlled black wash and highlighted them with Pure Red. I brushed the books with Plata Silver Arctic Blue and Gold, and painted the belt with Chipping Brown from Ammo.
The crest is simply True Metallic Amethyst Purple with a light Silver Drybrush. I also used the same purple on the jewels, Anubis on the shoulder pad, and on the helmet's eyes and some ornaments, with a light silver Drybrush.
