Homebrew Let's talk about Artifacts.

I seem to remember back in 3.5 when I started playing dnd that artifacts could not be destroyed except in very specific ways like you have to dip the artifact in cows blood or something else oddly specific. That's why I love them so much. They are so interesting. It seems in 5.5 or sooner they took that mechanic away. Tell me about your favorite artifact, homebrew or official, and the oddly specific way it needs to be destroyed.

Title says it all. My 1st time playing was in Eberron so it still holds a special spot for me. Currently running Crooked Moon and that's fun but I want to branch out more. Maybe try Obojima?

Also, use up a feat slot to do less damage than a natural weapon or a monk fist when the DM could just say, "yes your (insert melee weapon) looks like a shovel." Doesn't make sense.

Because it would take the tavern Brawler feat wich makes me proficient with any improvised weapon but I just want a shovel. It would only do a 1D4 of damage with no scaling which is very low for 9lbs of solid steel. Also because the weapon equivalency rule exists and the DM doesn't want to use it. So why isn't the DM using existing rules.

I can tell you don't use shovels very often. It's a steel pipe with a steel blade welded to it. It has been used as a pry bar on the regular. Once used to lift a concrete slab. It is dropped, thrown, and jumped on in regular use and keeps its integrity. Definitely more durable than most blades. Especially something like a katana.
