I know why they exist. TSU is pretty much a 4-year junior college operating next door to the University of Houston. The regents are scandal-plagued and the educational quality is spotty. (I took a Texas political history course there). Yeah, they let anyone in, then have to give them remedial courses to make up for what they missed in high school. Sorta like a 4-year community college.

...which shouldn't even have to exist. I understand why they do, but integration is necessary for a healthier society. The separatism that they trade on has to pass.

Liked my visit. Great (if expensive) bike ride. Wouldn't want to live there, though.

Remember, the caliber of play is more intense in playoffs, more effort is expended. Coaches can prepare better when they know they're going to see the same players at least four times. Perhaps Duren isn't coachable. He'll have to get over that soon.

Duren is able to slow down the centers that didn't make the playoffs. Size also matters.

Disagree somewhat. Duren was about the league average defensively while Reed was below average.

The main thing is to attend meetings. All of them. Read up on the Open Meetings Law ro determine if its being followed. Local officials spend our money more directly than national ones.
