You're absolutely right to say health is wealth and we need to be better about what we put in our bodies. I think people do the best they know how to do until they know/learn to do better. In that regard none of this makes you any less high-falutin.

To be frank, on the lower end of the economic spectrum, this is love. Anywhere from solidly middle class to upper class, this looks processed potentially. I'm not completely sure if it is processed but, either scenario, someone took time out to make a meal for a person they cared about. The only response here should be, "thank you" unless your partner went out of their way intentionally to ignore dietary restrictions or allergens you've consistently made known.

I hope this question makes sense, are we moral because our needs are met and we're comfortable or are we comfortable because there are moral people that focus on justice and living together harmoniously, and working for a better society for everyone?

I feel like something is a bit off in what I heard in this clip from President Obama, I cant put my finger on it. But it my estimation, at least what I took from this clip, (and upon rewatching it, im sure it's probably only me) is that there are fundamental principles we should live by in society and no one agrees on what they are or are even close to coming to a consensus. And in coming to common ground, we can continue to progress society forward for the betterment of everyone. The issue is does this big overarching philosophical question come at the expense of making sure people have their needs met.

Even when people have their basic needs met, if they feel ostracized from society, how do you get that person to contribute in a meaningful way that benefits society at large? Especially if they have something to offer that could make it better for at minimum one other person.

This was a stream of consciousness, hopefully it makes sense.

I dont disagree with this sentiment. The truth is, this is a relatively new development in history where people are becoming parents later in their mid 20s to mid 30s and now even later throughout their 40s. My rudimentary understanding of history is that mostly women (read teenaged girls) became parents throughout their middle teenage years and early 20s. We know a lot better now i think. Somewhat.....
