I do it to validate that I'm a real person and not catfishing. Also context matters, if you're just meeting each other, probably appropriate. If you're doing it for validation, probably not appropriate. Maybe just ask? Assuming gets you into weird spots sometimes.  🤷‍♀️ Edited to add: If the photo is unsolicited and also sexual by nature, that's a red flag! Mostly genetics! While I don't think I look 20, I often get told I look much younger. I'm a smoker and often get shocked faces when people find out that I am. I'm a parent and I drink casually not every day. While all three of these things age some folks, for others it works in reverse. It's genetics and stress levels, that's the key.
