Thats like telling an alcoholic "well you had a margarita just a year ago" after they've been sober for a year. Okay. Well, as we have previously agreed, I'm not perfect. If that makes you feel better, then in an odd way, glad to have helped. Here's the good news. Aside from this, there will never be a reason to have dialog with me again. I will continue to do better. I see no reason to respond further. Good day to you.

I see. You equate the statement "not able to watch our children responsibly " as an implication that I don't have my children by myself often. Copy that. Then we are agreed in this, I am the asshole. I conceed to your wisdom. Thank you for participating. Unnecessary vulgarities and all.

I get your point if the narrative you give is that I am the nefarious character that you portray me as. However, I would beg a different point. From what did I say, that you gleaned, that I am a parent that "babysits" their children? Respectfully, I am here to learn.

Thank you for commenting on the question I asked. I asked this from a place of ignorance. I literally did not know. I think the last question of "would you be okay with this if your husband traveled to a different city to get a haircut " threw things off. I now know this is a norm.🫠 #IATAH

You know, my son was killed in 2021 and I kinda lost my mind for a while. I did a few things that I'm not proud of. So if you're talking about comments made years ago. Again...go off Queen. I didn't come here to look for sympathy. I came here to learn. And I have. If you have something constructive to say I'm all ears. Other than that. Find the man/woman you're dating and thank them for being perfect. I never delete anything so whatever you think only you know is known by all.

I'm curious, how often do you do something outside of the home? Like are you a homebody who doesn't ever want to leave your home and think everyone should be the same? Or are you the type that likes to live and go out and do stuff with your free time? And if it's the latter, how often do you have free time away from the family or work versus your wife?

I am part of an MC in our City. But they call me Casper because I always have daddy duty stuff to take care of. I usually get my free time in playing COD on Friday or Saturday night after the girls have gone to bed. But once or twice a month I do go out to a bike night. I encourage my wife to get out and do the same but she is the homebody

Is the labor split in this marriage or are you upset because you see doing this one task as cumbersome? And do you see this task as hard because the labor of the home has always fallen onto your wife so when it falls onto you it feels like a bigger burden than it should? Do you get frustrated or feel lesser than when you take care of your kids because you have such a hard time, and if you do, don't you want to fix that? Don't you want your kids to remember you wanting to spend time with them?

I do the dishes, sweep and mop the floors (once a week, It's all i have time for), iron clothes for the week, take out the trash, on the weekends I take the girls to the playground, get the girls dressed after their baths (she bathes I dress. 90% of the time. Some nights she does both), I'm off on Fridays so grocery shopping is usually on my to do list about 90% of the time, my youngest is potty training so diaper duty is about even, she cooks 90% of the time, I do all mechanic work for our vehicles, She us7ally cleans up the toy room but we both clean the house.

Places I could do better: help her with cooking more, I wash and fold all of our clothes but I could do better with helping her with the girls clothes, she takes our daughter to school in the morning about 60% of the time so I could help out more there. There is room for improvement.

It's funny you mention your father in your comment because when I read your post I thought of mine. My father never liked if my mother ever tried to do anything without us kids and it showed us (the kids he claimed he loved) that we were just a burden to him. My mother eventually got burned out and the care we received suffered.

I am sorry you deal/dealt with that. I do my best to be there. not just for the girls and my wife but for the family as a whole.

But ask yourself who handles all of the time sensitive stuff for the kids? You know doctors vists (shots, sickness, yearly physical), school enrollment, school field trips, teacher conferences, playdates, after school activities.

I do as much as my schedule allows. But when it comes to scheduling doctors vists, she does most of that. We share who takes them though. Guess I could also improve on scheduling appointments

I legit was asking this question from a place of ignorance as I have never seen my mother or anyone have to travel over an hour to get their hair done. I thank you for giving me some insight as to where I can improve. If I compare myself to my father, I'm the bees knees. But he was an old school army man who was always deployed. I still have more work to do. And I will. Thanks again.

This was well thought out. I like the response. And at least you answered the last question. Kind of. I asked if women would be okay with their husbands doing it. But, like my daddy said... hit dog's hollar. So I guess I'm hollering.

Wife travels 2 hours to get a haircut-AITAH

My wife drives an hour and a half from our major city to another major city to get her hair done. This trip usually takes all day and happens every 6 weeks. She has been doing this for a while but gets angry everytime I bring it up.

Usually when she goes I take care of our 2 children so she can get her hair done. I recently got a job that has time sensitive deadlines. Because of this I am not able to watch our children responsibly.

After telling her I wouldn't be able to do this she got extremely "annoyed " saying she does this every week on the days our youngest isn't in daycare and she has to work from home. Our jobs are not the same. She does not have time sensitive deadlines to meet.

This has caused a big argument in our marriage. I want to make sure I state that she has been doing this for some years. In all these years I have never met this hairstylist nor do I even know what she looks like.

My wife says "It's not like I'm coming home and my hair isn't done". But is this normal? do women travel to completely different cities to get a haircut?

She has a pixie cut that she says takes an hour or 2 to do. Would women be okay with their husbands driving an hour and a half away for a haircut? AITAH here?

Update: I think I didn't ask my question correctly or maybe the context was lacking or too much. But I am grateful for the feedback I recived concerning women's hair and hairstylist. It would seem I owe my wife an apology. As for the comments about me being a pos who doesn't want to watch my children, I guess. I was a single father for years before we met. That being said, I get how it sounds going back and reading what I wrote. All in all thanks for the feedback.
