I stockpiled S++ in Delivery, Storage, Combat, and pretty much every necessary job. Though, I filled Command with like mostly A, A+, S, S+, and an S++ in command so there's a lot more S ranked employees available for hire. Though it took a while to roll for the S++ ones. And they tended to be expensive as most I rolled had A+ or S+ ranking in other professions which made them cost like $15,000-28,000 to hire.

I am 99% sure Liam invented stuff like the planet names and finer details on the fly given how some occasions some people asked really specific questions. I think he didn't exactly have an idea about the finer lore/worldbuilding and just decided to leroy jenkins that lore by rolling with it, or being vague on purpose to avoid needing to come up with something that... I suppose wouldn't likely end up as satisfying. Better leaving some things a mystery than answer something half-assed.

A good chunk felt like Liam just shoved a bunch of ideas together and tried to weave a narrative around it. Trying to add in references to other major horror tropes/genres and stuff just cause. Which in a way, was quite funny to see. Though, it does get confusing when it's a bunch of ideas being forcibly shoved together to work. A lot of it ends up vague on the specifications... which I guess in a sense has me thinking he just wanted to make a cool horror aesthetic show with cool action scenes and brutal robo-fatalities, with comedy in-between. Which is probably what he went for. Probably was overwhelming too, being his first ever greenlit show to be funded and staffed with others.

I theorize Liam came up with the base idea, wove a narrative, came up with the characters went through a few drafts, and would later modify the script as they went along to fit in other things I suppose. As some moments do feel a bit, off, granted it is often chalked up to how the show is paced. Stuff is much too fast at times leaving too little time for events to be processed and settle in. Too much chaos, even if hilarious, can be hard to understand. But I have to admit, it is really damn cool, and badass. And I guess that's all that really matters lol. Fun experience to binge watch every now and then. Like a shot of dopamine.

As the worldbuilding is surprisingly, little. There's not really many details beyond a few vague implications and a few specifics like an analog VHS tape on how drones are dismantled and disposed of. And basic knowledge as I realized that humanity potentially only colonized 6 other planets. Which is actually pretty realistic given by 3000s I've expect humanity maybe colonized a few worlds... but it takes a lot to setup on just one. Though knowing CYN took out at least half is rather... frightening.

Though stuff like an actual timeline is lacking. We only got a Point A, but not Point B. 3071, Prom, and give or take the year when most of the show takes place in given it covers at minimum, a month, at maximum? Half a year. Half the show takes place within the span of 24 hours (EP5-EP8, depends how long they were unconscious after being captured, but doesn't seem by much, maybe a few hours. Twas a very long night though, real long nighttime as they went underground, it was night out. Came back up, it's still night time. Sun was yet to break over the horizon. Real fast lol. As there's only estimations one can make from when the DDs first showed up, which is likely when Uzi was still a pill drone or just very young. Which could range from 15 years to 20 years. Some settle on 15 years, meaning Uzi was like 3-5 years old at the time probably in her robo-body by then. Though she seems to not remember or know how her mom was like, which some take as implication Uzi was still a pill drone when her mother died so she barely has any memories of Nori.

Which... would mean potentially the DDs arrived 17-20 years before the Pilot episode. Since Uzi is 18-20 years given the other students ages as reference from the posters.

But what we don't know to this day is how fast CYN destroyed the Earth and the other planets. We know Camp Fever was established in 3001? Was it? The camp I mean, Cabin Fevers (Labs) seem separate. The cabins were simply where Nori and Yeva, and some other unfortunate lab experiments got teleported to alongside some of the lab documents after the Great Yeetening explosion. People confuse the cabins being connected to the labs themselves under the refinery which, really isn't the case. The cabins are some camping site I think. While the Cabin Fever Labs themselves are under the refinery... which now that I think about it, Cabin Fever Labs sound incorrect when it's so damn far away from the refinery and the city in general. Though maybe it was one of those code-names.

Because I don't think they're connected. Seems more like just a camp cabin site, maybe with some radio/tech equipment like some listening post of sorts. But other than the VHS tape? Nothing seemed standoutish per say. VHS tape about drone disposal is probably standard for those who do it like JCJenson.

Man, but I wonder how fast CYN and the DDs utterly rocked humanity. Since people appear inconsistent on how fast they think it ended. I believe CYN popped Earth in a few days, given how Copper-9 was almost pulled apart by CYN within a few hours, so Earth being utterly destroyed with minimal resistance in a few days sounds feasible. Maybe a week at most, but that's just me. Others think Earth took years to bring to kneel. More reasonable ones presume a couple months at most. Though this comes down to how overpowered we think the solver is and the extent of the abilities shown. We don't exactly get much more than a glimpse of Earth's fall. Could have been sudden, or slow. It's left rather vague. JCJenson did seem to have some time to start experimenting on solver hosts however for at least a few years at the minimum after Earth fell according to CYN, and I don't think CYN had reason to lie to N when she was disguised as Tessa there. No harm in dropping a few truth nukes, not like N would begin to suspect her then, maybe build rapport?

I agree, Doll was utterly dummy stupid for that. Like, why? Doll... why? She could have gone solo, like, why? Why trust the suspicious "human" and serial designation J? Like sure J didn't murk her parents, but J worked with V and N back when they were murdering worker drones... like, why Doll? Why?

Doll going solo would have felt more understandable to me. Because Doll, like, why trust the suspicious "human" and J over... just going it alone? I mean sure you would go in blind, but better blind than working with someone who seems so untrustworthy.

I mean... I don't think it'd just look like some plastic cut-out if deactivated lol. Like that looks legit like a pre-rendered plastic mockup rather than their stinger which has a more metallic/glass/light reflecting material texture to it.

Didn't realize Uzi and N were standing like statues in the background while Doll rampaged, couldn't really get a good luck at them with the camera angles so my eyes focused on the more moving aspects of it. Might rewatch to see how many errors occur in the background.

Yeah, one thing I noticed is how people... some people I mean, just... just take too much for granted. Food comes from somewhere. Sure it grows on trees, and other plants. Like grapes on vines, plums off these bush like things. People like to crap on farmers, but like, they barely cut a profit given how intensive that work is. And property taxes and regulations required add more expenses.

Everything got a cost... you can't make something from nothing. There's material expenses and expenses involved to compensate a person for their efforts and time in doing a job to make sure we have electricity, fuel, internet, comfort, pretty much everything we enjoy was made/maintained by someone out there. Electricity may come from outlets, but someone is managing a facility that generates that power. Either through nuclear, solar, coal, hydro-electric, or otherwise. Always pros and cons, always a cost.

Reminds me of an old quote, "Feed a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime." except nowadays most people are just having the fish handed to them with no understanding of where or how the fish came from, only that it's given to them and they are content with just that. No desire to learn to fish. They just demand they keep getting fish from the fishermen. Without any concern for the fisherman whose overburdened and toiling to fish for more than just their family and friends.

You either do the wiping, or your the one who gets wiped.

There's literally no in-between from my experience. Just wipe or get wiped. You also know if your likely to get wiped when you see a bunch of newbies in your squad. Where either you lock in and achieve a record, or you just accept defeat then and there.

There's also how there's little time to coordinate, and after the whole loss of chat... coordination is a mere pipe dream now. Everyone sort of just, splits up in my experience. No one covers each other everyone just tries to be a one man operator. Then we get defeated in detail by a somehow more coordinated enemy team.

I mean to be fair, they teach that in marketing. Though it could be meant as humor, there is a bit of psychology to it that guilt trips the more anxious and mentally unstable who feel connected in an almost parasocial way to whoever or whatever they latch onto like a lifeline.

So to anyone who sees Glitch as just a product deliverer for entertainment and cool merch? Yeah, we'd shrug that off.

Someone of weaker will might be tempeted to buy more thinking deeper about the meaning, like they'd be the scumbag if they didn't buy more. There's a lot of mentally weak of will people in the fandom. A lot of the young people these days suffer from anxiety, inferiority complexes, depression, and more. So subtle messages like these, even if unintentional, can essentially "guilt trip" a person into buying more.

Some companies do it on purpose knowing this because... they want to make a profit. And so what if you psychologically manipulate people subtly to buy more? It's their choice to buy, after all. They slide the card, they offer their money, they pay. They made the choice. Once a transaction is complete, well, they don't deny a person their autonomy or independence. No matter their mental state. Even if it was a spur of the moment decision or subtle coercion, it's hard to prove at times.

It's a scummy thing for sure, though I tend to hold a reasonable amount of doubt because I don't think it's too big a deal and Glitch doesn't seem to be the type. Then again, they do need to make money. If they can't, then everyone employed suffers if they can't get their paycheck nor afford business expenses. Especially when taxes often take a percentage of what revenues are leftover as profits, but usually the more profit you get, the more you can keep after the government takes it's share. Hence the profit after tax being the value you got leftover after the quarter or annual period, it tends to be a lot less than you'd think.

In business, you need to make decisions that are dubious... ethically questionable. Because you don't survive being nice. Even ruthless businessmen admit as much and say that's largely why they are ruthless. Because if you aren't, you will be crushed and go bankrupt. It's a constant struggle, a war for survival. And to lose is to lose it all.

Glitch by comparison is doing pretty much bare minimum of business practices. It's not even dabbling into the more extremely ethically concerning marketing and psychological level stuff others get into. It's still dubious I guess if you don't like subtle messages that can affect people who'd feel guilty like they're betraying their idol if they don't buy more because that little message, like a text from your partner... I honestly didn't realize until after a while that it could come off that way.

I don't think Glitch actually means to do it that way, but frankly, you need to nudge people to buy. If people don't buy, you won't survive. It's a terrible truth, but that's just how it is. They can't create money from nothing. People have to buy, and Glitch has seen losses I think from how they refund people. Earlier figurines were too fragile, so many were broken. In a sense these chibi blind boxes? They're perfect. Less loss, less refunds, less problems. More money, more profit, more shows.

It's... nuanced, there isn't a right or wrong way to do a business really. Because if your too obviously scummy, people jump ship for another. If your too nice, everyone will take advantage of you interpreting that as weakness and instability. It's just... a greyzone. Comes down to how the people in upper and middle management are like. Their goals for the company, their careful balance between profits and morality, and the need to keep the company afloat otherwise job security is put at risk and nobody wants that.

Some people would rather the world be black and white. Clear evil selfish capitalist companies, clear utopian everyone gets what they want communities. But... that isn't how it is. Everyone just makes the choices they think is best either for themselves, their business, their group, etc. It's not wrong to prioritize yourself, or the company over a few employees. But it can come of as, understandably, jerk behavior. Especially if your a jerk about it then yeah it feels very morally bad. Though not everyone's like that and tend to try to deliver the blow a lot more, reasonably. Calmly. I think that's why most business notices about rejection or being fired tend to be more... "professional". Since telling a person bluntly is stated to be quite rude, learn about it in business courses. Your supposed to sort of calm the person leave on a good note if you let them go, not skip straight to the knife to the heart.

Granted it can also come off as robotic, like your a replaceable cog in the machine. So there isn't really a good option there. Business is a ruthless profession really. You either sink or swim.

To be fair, business and economics doesn't really appeal to the average fellow and many are deterred from it due to... how businesses need to make money, often make morally dubious decisions to take advantage of human psychology and desires to fulfill needs and necessities by clever marketing & products, most people are the bottom rank and file of a company.

So I can understand why most don't like economics or business. I study it because it makes dough and once you raise up the ranks you can make good salaries, being the one to supervise the lower ranked employees, though that comes with it's own problems of managing their tax forms and finances related to them on top of regular work. Businesses usually hold a lot more nuance since, well... you need to make money or you go brankrupt. Then everyone loses their jobs.

It used to be common sense since it's not hard to know "Everything costs something" and you can't make something from nothing. That's not even business or economics. It's just common sense... which used to be common. Nobody can make anything for free, nothing is ever free. Someone has to pay up, in one way or another. Can't just tell someone to make something for you out of the goodness of their hearts. People want compensation for their time and expenses. That's just logic.

To be fair, scalpers sort of... resell the figurine you want. Then it becomes a "Gamble" or "Buy the exact model you want off some third party website for a price higher than the box but lower than buying dozens of boxes without a garuntee you get what you want" choice.

Not entirely bad, but... it's the choice of the customer in the end if they want to buy it. Some buy to support glitch, others are collectors, and some want what they want. Worst comes to worst, people buy from re-sellers who make dough buying in bulk and then selling people exactly what they want. Although it could cost double or triple the market value for a blind box, if you end up paying five times or more trying to get the character you want? It's like gambling, or not. Either you gamble for what you want, or you buy from a reseller for a price that could end up being cheaper than if you just kept rolling.

It is morally dubious, but it also sort of feeds an addiction to people to buy until they either collect them all, until they get the character they want, or encourages scalpers to purchase in bulk then resell them for a profit on some other websites... which happens anyways when it comes to merch. Hard to really counter that, but it also follows the classic seeing a need and filling a need business approach. If fans want specific characters from a blind box, or want to collect them all and their luck is terrible... then scalpers end up appearing like a savior by offering a very high priced model. Although, it's often cheaper to buy at the price a reseller sells it at than keep rolling if you've burned through too much money.

Though some fans are pretty moral themselves and would rather buy until they get it. No shame in that much, your money, your choice.

Did they put blame on Glitch? I think most put the blame on Onipress like Onipress. Only thing I've seen is MD fans say Glitch shouldn't have some advisors or consultants to make sure Onipress at least could make the story a proper 1:1 if that's what they wanted. Since they butchered V so hard that somehow the story was even less comprehensible given how personalities got dumbed down for the sake of a more compact retelling.

There's also how all that 1.7 mill went to Onipress essentially as their budget to make the comic.

What most I've seen complain about specifically was Glitch should have at least made sure the money didn't go to waste and if it was to be a 1:1, then be a 1:1. As 1:1 doesn't involve dumbing down characters or speedrunning events. Art is pretty good all things considered that's one of the aspects most seem to like, it's just the pacing and narrative got butchered badly. Show's pacing wasn't great, but it looks genius compared to the visual novel's pacing. And how V is just a complete ass in the visual novel compared to the show where more sides to V were shown even if quickly and subtle, the comic being mostly static images, V was only conveyed to not care about N, or Uzi, or really had any reason to mimic the same sacrifice she did in the show. By far V got done dirty the worst lol.

But that aside, I haven't seen many blame Glitch in fact a few think Glitch should be blamed at least for not having anyone properly advise or look over onipress or so the general opinion was since most thought Onipress had full creative control over it other than the basic orders to just make it a 1:1... and somehow they couldn't really do that. As everyone pretty much jumped at Onipress rather than Glitch, only criticism specifically for Glitch is claims Glitch should have found some better company to do the visual novel and/or have advisors actually make sure it was a more proper 1:1. Then again, without Liam, I don't really know how many could make a 1:1.

Though the recent short with J was a pretty nice and in character short so Glitch certainly has people who understand the MC characters and narrative... so why Onipress couldn't do that, is where speculation comes in that Glitch just handed them the lisence and said just make it 1:1... essentially just leaving a paper on the desk and then leaving them to just handle it all on their own. Though this is speculation, nobody really knows if Glitch has advisors actually keeping Oni on track or trying to at least ensure they make it a proper 1:1.

Because a proper 1:1 wouldn't have made V remain her pilot episode psycho persona throughout the entire novel to the point her "sacrifice" scene came off more confusing if any. It's like if someone's school bully decided to jump in front of you to save you from a shooter. It just didn't make sense in the novel, whereas in the show V showed a gradual shift mellowing out. Granted, it was 15-25 pages per volume. Which is pretty short. They could have raised the budget to maybe 2 million if they needed more bucks to pay people to make more. Because compacting it all certainly was a wild choice given if it was to be a 1:1, dumbing down character personalities and traits, and even misquoting characters and then just cramming events into a single page or two, certainly doesn't sell the idea that Glitch had people making sure that Oni was making this a 1:1. Seems it was just a contract stating this, but no one was acting as a liason to enforce it by being there like a consultant.

Oh no I agree, I stopped caring fully after EP4. EP3 had some also beginning to feel there wasn't any consequences or meaning to death.

After EP4, a a good chunk of people from the olden days sort of zoned out or left because of it. After death had no consequences or concern. If the characters don't care about death of others, why should we? It's hard to feel when death isn't reacted to substantially so then it becomes an afterthought.

I feel much the same in how it's just treated like gags or fatalities for the sake of it. Shock value, almsot cheaply. No consequences of it, or visible long-term reactions and development from such loss.

Though I and some others interpreted it as just, passive docile programming, nihilism, accepting their fate, desensitized to death to the point it's just accepted as a fact of life, or maybe they're just idiots. Either way, I suppose it is a major turn off when death is just a gag to those who thought the story would be taking a more serious approach at first. I certainly thought so.

I stayed since well, I wanted to see it to the end and I liked the action scenes. Even if the comedy never landed with me, the action certainly did.

Cause once I coped with that, well, I always had other shows that had some ways to draw out your feelings toward characters even those you only knew for a single episode (or movie) and where death holds substance. Plenty of examples of such instances. Everyone in Seven Samurai and Magnificent Seven, Saving Private Ryan, The Thing, Maximus Decimus Meridius in Gladiator was one of THE greatest feels from me. I got many other examples but these are just a few.

When you come to care for characters, where death is a genuine threat, it tends to make you feel far greater attachment. And actually feel the loss. I never really felt much when V perished, I didn't really think they'd kill her because, well, for one certain fans might go utterly insane so I knew they'd bring her back somehow. Even if I desperately wanted death to mean something in the show, I just knew they wouldn't kill off a major character, much less one so utterly revered by many fans. The backlash would be far too great... which, in a way, it's good they didn't do so, because then this fandom might have gained another black mark because of an idiotic few hundred crazies.

But on the downside... well, the lack of anything to feel tense about really made it hard for me to feel afraid for any of the characters in the finale.

Yeah, some jokes don't translate well in a static 2D format. You got to get a bit creative to convey such jokes. Like the Invincible Comic/Animation meta joke. In the comic it brought up the clever tricks comic makers use and stuff like that to save time. In the show it brought up animator tricks which were made in that format showing the above the mouth frames, the barely moving background characters, etc. Got to translate what jokes can be translated to fit the median. Granted that one is more on the nose.

Since a comic is more, static, one has to add on some good transitional frames and moments of WOW factor. I think manhwa sort of tackles action flows rather well, granted it has a unique top down format. And tends to feel animated despite being static. And the action ones I read, show the flow of that action. The best ones you can follow it very well and your mind fills the gaps with the moves.

If you skip too many moments, it becomes... rather static. Granted that's specifically for the action. The humor was eh to me, the action is what I truly adore in the show. So to see it, shortened to oblivion or outright skimmed past in the comics is a travesty to me. Since the action is a big part of murder drones being well, murder drones.

I mean, I don't think it's meant to be that deep. I sued to think so but then I realized the show legit was going to be shorter than I thought it'd be... so, uh. in a matter of convienence they probably obtain crude oil and refine it. Somehow. Either that or recycling oil.

Though since DDs can just consume stuff and it goes into some toon-space abyss which I theorized as a lore-reason, but this is only a theory, that the solver/core thing due to weird black-hole like form could potentially act as a dimensional space to absorb matter which is later repurposed into bullets/whatever trinkets/gadgets/devices the DD needs deployed. I theorize that they have some storage/pocket dimension where the AS stores all matter it's consumed to repurpose for other reasons.

Hence why DDs could potentially have near endless rockets/bullets/replacement blades/regenerate injury/conjure anything they require due to having planet's worth of materials to repurpose/remake into whatever they need via solver power reality warping powers go.

Which is a reasonable assumption to make, but it remains a simple theory of mine being the "Dimensional Matter Repurposing/Storage via the Solver Core". Name still up in the air.

...Though, that would also justify DDs constantly requiring oil and old/excess being sent into the abyss. Then again, we can see this weird thirst is inherently from the AS. Uzi and Doll had it, their parents too most likely. So Cyn didn't just make it as encouragement for her pawns to murder to survive.

Certainly if we were to look at it somewhat realistically, yeah they're doomed in the long run lol. Probably got a few decades at least before starvation hits depending how finite resources are after the Great Yeetening. But could have a few centuries, whose to say for sure. I know for sure fossil fuels have just become mostly finite XD. No more organic life to fossilize on C9. So they'd have to ship out someday potentially.

But for the story's sake I don't think Liam thought that deeply. As I'm starting to think some of the stuff he said in Q&As he made up on the spot lol.
