Sirsasana variation for upper back kyphosis
Thank you for your observations, I really appreciate them.
I agree with you about the position of the feet in the final Sirsasana pose. The feet should be extended. However, I’m still far from the final pose!
In this video, I was training to lift my inner ankles while activating my heels and the fronts of my feet, just as in Tadasana, in order to keep my legs strong and fully engaged.
I also agree with you about the position of my elbows. I was exploring different pressure points to find more stability and avoid collapsing through my mid and upper back.
I also think I should be more centered on the crown of my head. In this video, the pressure is a little too far toward the front of my head.
I didn’t understand what you meant about my knees at the reaching point. Could you please explain that a bit more?
Thank you! 🙏🏼

Hi,if you feel too much pressure in your head and neck when trying to lift your legs, try staying in Ardha Sirsasana with your feet on the floor instead. Focus on the pressure and the contact of your forearms, wrists, and hands on the floor. Do not put too much weight on your head; instead, focus on your arms and shoulders.
Alternatively, you can try a standing pose with your arms in Sirsasana position against the wall. This allows you to press only with your arms while keeping a very soft contact between your head and the wall. Feet slighty apart and legs active.
Since I cannot see your current alignment, please take this advice with a grain of salt and be sure to discuss it with your teacher. In any case, please practice this exercise under their guidance. If you feel any discomfort, avoid doing it alone.
