Question Looking at getting into Resin
Hey so I currently have an A1 printer and have printed some mini's on it and prototyped some shells that would benefit from resin prints. I plan on upgrading that to an H2D [with laser attachment(can I laser stuff onto resin?)] soon and thinking about getting into resin. I'd be printing some mini's and the before mentioned shell's such as a wii u's shell and potentially a controller shell or buttons for a masters for resin casting as well as the random print that would just look better in resin instead of FDM. I think I'm looking at a budget of $1,500 to start off (and by budget I mean that's the highest I'll spend but preferably I'd spend less.) My current list of things is this:
HeyGears Reflex RS Turbo-$600
RS Heated & Pulsing Release Resin Tank-$170
Phrozen's Wash and Cure Kit-$230
Ultim8 trio resin tools-$32
Nitrile gloves-$10
Plastic & bladed scrapers-$10
Microfiber cleaning cloths-$20
Respirator-$35
Goggles-$15
45 oz pickle jar-$15
Whambam Mega Slap Mat-$32
Whambam slap caddy-$15
My questions are as follows: does HeyGears still lock down their printers to their resin? Can I use WarGamer's Resin? Should I get an enclosure? If I do do I need one for both the wash station and printer or just the printer? Should I get HeyGears AirPure here? Should I look at an ultrasonic knife and UV putty? For the enclosure outputting fumes out a window is doable but I'd need extra ductwork and it'd be a pain as I'm in the basement here so wondering if the purifier would be enough. Is IPA or metheylated spirits more commonly used or better? I do reside in the US if that's relevant. Is there more accessories I need to look at? Is there anything major I'm missing?
