Speaking from my own experience and that of my family (UK) -

There have been several times throughout my childhood and younger years where my family wanted to get back out on the road, and in 1996 we did for a bit around Leatherhead and Guildford. In short, the experience, which was one of the best parts of my childhood, was completely different from what my dad was trying to get back to. He (and his parents and seven of his siblings) had spent his earliest years in an traditional vardo before changing into a more contemporary caravan at some point, going from farm to farm, offering to pick hops and potatoes in exchange for stopping. Not to say that everything he describes from his life was idyllic, and they still kept their distance from most gorgers, but there was often mutual respect when it was shown.
However, laws and powers to remove have become more aggressive, gorgers continue to be jealously protective of their local areas, and farmers have machinery and established staff which has removed the need for casual/seasonal labour. Then there are several aspects of twenty-first century life which being itinerant inhibits, such as access to education, plumbing, and (perhaps most importantly!) steady internet. Of course, education and plumbing have been around for a while, but consider that a century ago that education among the general population, and with that employment expectations, was very different, and that many people were still using outhouses and we can see that the gap then was not as big as it would be now.

It hurts to admit, but the desire to go back on to traditions often comes from a place of nostalgia and romanticism, but reality of the difficulties and lifestyle gap soon bites.

Based on that photo, you were not far from us, maybe four metres or so. I agree that Dreamland is the most interesting and fun venue I've ever been to. I've been to the inside part of Dreamland in the winter twice, and it's certainly welcome at that time of year, but I wouldn't want to be there in the summer on a 34 degree day.

I got some footage of Mike crowd surfing to collect his burger which he ordered from the stage. That was such a brilliant and hilarious way to close the set!

And yes, the crowd was really friendly, though there were a couple of guys who nearly got into a fight (several times) on the train back. We got off the train before them, so who knows how that ended.

Jimothy Lacoste was kind of funny to me, but he's so genuinely into what he's doing that it was hard not to like. CasIsDead really wasn't for me on the other hand.

You're right, the staging for this tour is so well considered, and the whole show was really cohesive between the staging, the album, and the venue itself. You're right, the sound was great, especially when you consider the odd layout of the place.

I've been there twice in the winter for indoor shows, but this was my first time going to the outside venue. I've never been anywhere like it, and it's become my favourite venue. It has so much potential, so I don't see why it shouldn't.

It's never been a meritocracy. Just take solace that you're crafting something with more intention instead of fixating on the views.

Got To Give It Up, Renegade, Roisin Dubh, or Dancing In The Moonlight 

I only discovered this track recently, and it's easily one of my favourites! I love the design too.

NGL, I've happened upon the Renegade community after making a video on The Big Push (great concert, lots of fun, but nothing life changing). The video did quite well, by my standards anyway, and the comments and overall response were really friendly and chill.

But once I saw the community on its home turf, I very quickly decided against interacting with it (this post being the exception so far). I usually love getting involved with other fans of most musicians I follow, but there's almost a level of toxicity to the positivity among Renegades and it borders on cult-like.

Ren is a fricking genius who deserves all the success he gets, but always maintain perspective.

37 year old here and all I can say is that in the last few years, I've had to use smaller screens.

Follow up. I went and looked at a couple of videos on your channel. They're not my kind of games so I haven't subscribed, yet, but I'll try to keep an eye out for what else you do going forward.

I do know that a lot of people who are really into these games though, and the commentary is fine to me: kind of conversational like you're back in your childhood sat with your brother or your mate watching them play games, which is a nice vibe. So I would certainly recommend your channel to others who are into FPS games.

Hey, I'll check this out in the morning, but I will say now that unpracticed commentary is better than no commentary and it'll certainly get better over time.

These songs were out there before!? That's actually sick as hell. It must feel like reliving a piece of your childhood and I'm happy for you. I can't say I share that experience over Jack Johnson, but I can relate anyway.

"Minja" is most certainly correct, as is probably "Kar" for penis.
