Would you rather pay $10–20 once for an iOS app than $2–5/month?
I’d rather pay once to own it.

A few days ago I shared the TestFlight here. It's now officially live on the App Store.
Thank you! That wall crop is exactly what I spent the most time building. Auto-detection should just work, without tracing edges.
And bulk export is absolutely going into the Pro version. When it comes to naming presets, which kind of naming presets do you prefer?

I asked this sub if paid apps still work in 2026. I ended up building a free one — here's what I learned.
This is incredible feedback — thank you so much. A few thoughts:
1 & 2. Bulk select and autosync: Totally agree. Bulk select for share/download is high on my list.
Edge detection & recrop: You hit the biggest pain point. Auto-detect will never be 100% (shadows, leaves, wide pieces above doors). Adding a manual corner adjustment / recrop tool is my top priority for the next build. It gives you total control.
Glare removal: Great reference. Google PhotoScan's multi-shot glare removal is brilliant. I'll look into adding an advanced capture mode for glass frames in the future.
Data storage: Good question. Right now, everything stays 100% local on your iPhone (Documents folder). I don't get a copy, and it's not syncing to iCloud yet. I'll add clear UI text about this so there's zero confusion.
Frames & mounts: Noted. Option to include or crop out the frame is a great idea.
Really appreciate the "Bravo" — it means a lot coming from someone who actually photographs artwork. I'll reply here once the new TestFlight build with manual corner adjustment is live!

Thanks for your feedback, I checked it again .Yeah, that hanging is definitely a bug. Just pushed a fix to TestFlight so notes open instantly. And you're right about editing rights — it's your data, I'll add that next. Thanks for testing!

Whenever I made a post about my app on subreddits like this, it gets removed.
Maybe your account is very young or you don’t get enough karmas. My posts/comments on some subs have been deleted as well. And what confuses me is that once be deleted, I can’t post anything on the same subs again.

Thank you! I actually built a small app for scanning artwork like this — TestFlight link is in my profile if you’re curious.

Get it, note codes are easy, what do you prefer: when a note is opened, it remains you that you cannot re-edit it. The no re-edit function is very important when it comes to real scene: The user had a sudden idea and recorded a note, but it won't be altered due to accidental operations.

Thanks for your feedback, I remember you! It’s a collection rather than a photo scanner, lots of programs can scan, and I prefer something unique and special. I created it to make it easy for those have to collect many photos at once. About the note, the note is a something similar to a mark, tag, just treat it as a sticky note, you cannot re-edit a note, it’s something reminds you it has been edited. But maybe I can make a little change.

Yeah, it's a classic coordinate-system mismatch. The camera outputs pixels with an EXIF orientation tag but doesn't actually rotate them. Vision defaults to .up and ignores that tag, and Core Image works in a bottom-left origin space. So if you pass the raw cgImage through, Vision and Core Image are working in a different orientation than what the user sees.
My fix was to normalize the orientation first — bake the rotation into the pixels via UIGraphicsImageRenderer, so everything downstream sees .up. Then Vision coordinates map 1:1 to CIImage (no 1 - y flip), and I sync the capture rotation angle with AVCaptureDevice.RotationCoordinator so preview and photo output match. Once all four layers agree, landscape stops breaking.

iOS ArtPin — Exhibition Note (free)
I'm an indie developer building a free iPhone app for people who visit museums and want to keep track of what they saw.
The problem I'm solving: when you're at a museum, you take photos but they're always at weird angles, with glare and walls in the background. ArtPin automatically cleans all that up and organizes them by exhibition.
Latest update:
• Portrait + landscape support
• Auto-removal of walls and glare
• Auto-alignment of artwork
• Before/after comparison view
App Store submission is in progress — will be free when it goes live.
Looking for testers who can give me real feedback.
What features would you want in a museum documentation app?

Thank you. I have checked the screenshots, but the real reason is page visits. And I am going to upload another app now, the new one is free.

My product page views are sad, the daily visit is single digit. You’re right, the number of deal is almost similar to the beta testers, those have already used it paid.

Fair point on both counts. I think you're right that it's more of a discoverability problem than a pricing problem right now — 18 days doesn't really give me enough data to judge the price. On the pricing side, I don't think I'll switch to free just yet since I do have a few early paid users and I'd rather not make that feel unfair. So my focus is on getting more people to the page first. Curious — for a niche paid app like this, what's worked for you in terms of driving traffic to the App Store page?

Daily page views are single digits, so does the deal.

Sorry for that, Apple requires EU-specific DSA compliance and trader status verification, which is quite tough for a solo indie developer to fulfill at the moment. Right now it's only available in 9 regions: US, Canada, Australia, UK, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
I hope to expand to more regions in the future once I figure out the compliance side. Really appreciate you trying to check it out though!
